Title: Calif, the Commie State

OK, here's the run down. We're supposed to have high off shore winds out of the East N/E. This is normal, but the states reaction is anything but! (PUC, Public Utilities Commission)
Thing is, the Ca PUC sets the rules for a private business, but in Ca, there is no such thing when it comes to utilities. For decades the state has gotten in bed with PG&E utility, in the process the Dims got kickbacks from the utility for a trade off in not having to maintain their lines as per law.
Think Camp Fire in Paradise Ca, and while you're at it, think Oroville dam catastrophe, and it's all thanks to the PUC and the corruption of the left.
So what do they do in place of maintaining power lines? They just shutoff the power. What about the children...Homeless?

The Latest on power outages in California (all times local):

6:30 a.m.

Pacific Gas and Electric has shut off power to more than half a million customers in Northern California in the biggest planned shut off in the state's history.

The utility said Wednesday it will gradually turn off electricity to nearly 800,000 customers to prevent its equipment from starting wildfires during hot, windy weather.

It says a second group of about 234,000 customers will lose power starting at noon.

The utility says it's considering turning off power to another 42,000 customers in areas it serves near Southern California. It says it will determine a time and the specific locations later Wednesday.

Most grocery stores have a back up generator (here anyway) which will keep the computers and lights on but not large enough to power refrigeration. Are the powers to be going to open the doors on all the powerless grocery stores and let the homeless pig out? Has the all knowing powers to be decided who is going to pay for all the lost product? All I can say is wow. Does the city run on a different power line? How are they going to even keep the traffic lights working? Has anybody thought this out?

But, and there is a but. Those that deliver to the stores won't be able to buy fuel, so forget restocking once supplies run out. No, the "powers that be" never consider the consequences before they act, too late.

Think Soviet era breadlines.

Oddly enough, I live in one of those protected areas of the State because our mountains are a communication hub for the entire state, be it satellite of microwave repeaters for fire , sheriff etc.
Many here in my county have enjoyed the idea that the power would never be turned off, so none of the businesses got backup power.
Well, they were lied to.

To be honest with you I can't keep up with California. I'm glad we have Solar to give us the laughs of his own state when they hold their circus events like this. Turning off the power of thousands of people than turn around and tell them people that they are the scum of the earth for using fossil fuels like gas and diesel to keep their lights on.

Hell,.....I don't know how he does it. I would have packed my crap alone time ago. People like him are what is needed to keep the whack jobs in California in check and bring us a good laugh from time to time.

Son in law lives there and bought one, really nice cars, but if you run them dead and don't get them a charge, it can lead to a battery replacement.
I love how the left is banning new gas installation in the Bay area, that's Right, no gas, electricity only.
Then they cut the power.

The moron Governor (Pelosi is Newsom's aunt) had the audacity to claim that Ca has been in a boom, but it's ending.
What world does he live in, where the populace abandons their homes to get away from leftist policy, is considered a good thing?
Trump called him on it and this was the idiot child's response.
(Keep in mind, this was the day before the State turned off the power. Let this be a lesson for you libs, this is what you advocate, a strong arm state that can simply shut off the power, or anything else they want to do , all in the name of the environment.)

Gavin Newsom
@GavinNewsom
You have no credibility on this issue. You're trying to gut our emissions laws. Deny climate change. And wreck our environment by burning the dirtiest possible energy sources.

But yeah, those electric vehicles we're encouraging car companies to manufacture sure are gas guzzlers!

Gasoline Prices in the State of California are MUCH HIGHER than anywhere else in the Nation ($2.50 vs. $4.50). I guess those very expensive and unsafe cars that they are mandating just aren't doing the trick! Don't worry California, relief is on the way. The State doesn't get it!

Poor widdle baby... Screw you, you freakin Marxist, no one gives a shit about your wine!!!

When elitists Whine about their wine

SACRAMENTO — Gov. Gavin Newsom vented his frustrations Wednesday that widespread power shut-offs by Pacific Gas and Electric Co. were affecting his wineries, raising questions about how much he has separated himself from the business holdings he placed into a blind trust before taking office.

"I've got a bunch of businesses that are impacted," Newsom said during a bill-signing ceremony in San Diego on Wednesday when he was asked why he said Californians should be "outraged" by the wave of blackouts.

"I'd rather criticize Donald Trump than act like him talking about my businesses in Northern California," the governor said, "but we're in the middle of wine crush and folks are running around trying to get generators right now, in the middle of crush. I mean, it's very consequential."

In an effort to keep its equipment from sparking wildfires in high winds, PG&E initiated power outages Wednesday that could last for days and hit 650,000 to 700,000 residences and businesses.

On a side note. By law AT&T is supposed to power our phones in the event of an extended power outage using portable generators, which they are not doing. In other words, our land lines are dead, the batteries are only good for about 48 hours of backup and we're past that point, so no phones for a few days probably.
Then, Toy decides to go and get gas before it's all gone, waited in line for nearly an hour, usually wait time Zero. All they had left was regular and diesel and they were about to run out as well and no deliveries are scheduled.
Keep in mind, this is a small town, so they probably only have 5 thousand gallon tanks. Oh, and all the other stations in surrounding towns are closed because they didn't have generators for backup.

Know why there won't be any deliveries? No power to run the refineries in Martinez Ca, just outside of San Fran. And Newsom thinks he'll be reelected?

Now tell me, who is to blame? Nature, that does this every year, or Dims charged with protecting the environment and peoples homes?

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A wildfire raged out of control along the northern edge of Los Angeles early Friday, forcing thousands of people from their homes as firefighters battled flames from the air and on the ground.

Police Chief Michel Moore said mandatory evacuations of an 100,000 people in over 20,000 homes.

Fire Chief Ralph Terrazas said the fire had grown to more than 7 square miles (18 square kilometers) and at least 25 homes had been damaged.

The blaze erupted around 9 p.m. Thursday along the northern tier of the San Fernando Valley as powerful Santa Ana winds swept into Southern California.

Terrazas said there were sustained winds of 20-25 mph (32-40 kph) with gusts over 50 mph (80 kph) and relative humidity levels had fallen as low as 3%.

"As you can imagine the embers from the wind have been traveling a significant distance which causes another fire to start," Terrazas said.

Helicopters made repeated water drops as crews on the ground attacked flames in and around homes. Water- and retardant-dropping airplanes joined the battle after daybreak. About 1,000 firefighters were on the lines.

Evacuations were also still in effect in the inland region east of Los Angeles where a fire erupted Thursday and raged through a mobile home park in the Calimesa area of Riverside County.

More Commie Action Fromm the Marxists...

Not that it's legal, that doesn't matter. But the meat producing industry might have something to say about the nonsense.
All one has to do is rename their product to avoid this commie progressive crap.

California Is 1st State to Ban Sale of New Fur Products, 3rd to Bar Most Circus Animals

California will be the first state to ban the sale and manufacture of new fur products and the third to bar most animals from circus performances under a pair of bills signed Saturday by Gov. Gavin Newsom.

The fur law bars residents from selling or making clothing, shoes or handbags with fur starting in 2023.

Animal rights groups cheered the measure as a stand against inhumane practices. The proposal was vigorously opposed by the billion-dollar U.S. fur industry, and the Fur Information Council of America has already threatened to sue.

It follows Newsom's signing of legislation that makes California the first state to outlaw fur trapping and follows bans on sales of fur in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Bingo! That's why the Marxists are starting to push rent control. What does this do to investors? God these people are stupid!

Same old leftist playbook. When surgery is required, use a bandaid.

Seriously, what is the left's solution for homeowners who will lose thousands in a market crash of home values?

Of course the best move is to leave well enough alone and let the mkt dictate. But leftists are all about micro management, it's what central planning commies do, they fuck things up.

I just hope I can get out of Kalifornia before the real estate prices crash.

Isn't a lot of this down to bad forestry management?

No doubt nefarious intentions. What they are, is anyone's guess. There is no actual cost to the state, the taxpayers paid for it, so for Calfire to claim it costs them is a blatant lie.
The state will be sued over this BS, count on it.

Damn fool the H/O should be charging the state for running the radio repeater.  They have and always will save lives.  This will backfire on the state big time down the road.

Title: Newsom Blames Big Oil For Gas Prices
Post by: Solar on October 22, 2019, 04:26:41 AM
Add one more Marxist lie to the mix. Fact is, our prices are on par with the rest of the nation, that is, if you subtract all the taxes the Marxists tagged to a gallon of gas.
But these scum have the audacity to blame the oil companies. This is going to backfire on his ass in a huge way as they expose the truth.

SACRAMENTO - Gov. Gavin Newsom has asked California's attorney general to investigate why the state's gas prices are so high.

A new analysis from the California Energy Commission says California drivers are paying as much as $1 more per gallon of gasoline than the rest of the country. The commission concluded the primary cause was "simply that California's retail gasoline outlets are charging higher prices."

Monday, Newsom sent a letter to Attorney General Xavier Becerra and asked him to investigate. Newsom said the report suggests big oil companies are misleading and overcharging customers, possibly through false advertising and price fixing.

The commission said it has no evidence that gasoline retailers are doing those things. But it said name brand retailers refused to provide information for its analysis.

This act by Newsom says one or two things:
1) I am dumber than two loads of rocks, or
2) The citizens of CA are so dumb that I can get away with BS statements like this

He is a master of diversion.

Well, they did fool the idiot taxpayer into raising gas taxes on themselves, so it's possible #2 is correct.

In my dreams, I see a 2nd coming of the Reagan Revolution and the resurgence of the Republicans of California.  Being a New Yorker, every time I begin to dream of this happening in my own state, a wake up an have to take a piss. I then can go back to sleep and dream of more realistic things, like flying pigs and unicorns!

What will the current leaders have to promise to the voters to get elected after this. Reminds me of the old joke What did liberals use before candles?

Now the Marxists are harvesting votes.

Bill Text - SB-928 Homeless individuals: voter ...

leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=201520160SB928

This bill would require a homeless shelter that registers a person to vote to keep a record of the person it has registered to vote, including certain information about the person, and to transmit that information to certain government entities at least once per year.

I'm in Washington State. Saw on the back of my auto license renewal this morning that if I'm thinking of buying a new vehicle, I must make sure it adheres to "California vehicle emission standards!" Exclamation mark and all.

Because Washington State has "adopted California vehicle emission standards for all vehicles newer than 2009."

My normally easygoing husband was incensed by this. I told him to relax, we're all Californians now.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. As far as I know all the new models adhere to Kalifornia emission standards.
