Title: Ca Drinking Straw Law
Post by: Solar on January 29, 2018, 06:06:02 PM
OK, you've all heard about this Bullshit by now, but what you didn't hear will crack you up.
I bolded the truth below the article.

California Considers $1,000 Fine for Waiters Offering Unsolicited Plastic Straws

Straws1Ian Calderon wants restaurateurs to think long and hard before giving you a straw.

Calderon, the Democratic majority leader in California's lower house, has introduced a bill to stop sit-down restaurants from offering customers straws with their beverages unless they specifically request one. Under Calderon's law, a waiter who serves a drink with an unrequested straw in it would face up to 6 months in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.

http://www.capoliticalreview.com/top-stories/california-considers-1000-fine-for-waiters-offering-unsolicited-plastic-straws/

The actual number of straws being used is unclear. Calderon, along with news outlets writing about this issue—from CNN to the San Francisco Chronicle—unfailingly state that Americans use 500 million plastic straws a day, many of them ending up in waterways and oceans. The 500 million figure is often attributed to the National Park Service; it in turn got it from the recycling company Eco-Cycle.

Eco-Cycle is unable to provide any data to back up this number, telling Reason that it was relying on the research of one Milo Cress. Cress—whose Be Straw Free Campaign is hosted on Eco-Cycle's website—tells Reason that he arrived at the 500 million straws a day figure from phone surveys he conducted of straw manufacturers in 2011, when he was just 9 years old.

Is California an actual state or a reality TV show or a movie written by Mel Brooks?

Ya can't make this shit up.

One other point being missed here. Let's take the West Coast of Ca, who is the political majority that lives along the coast?
That's Right, libs! Point is, these straws don't come from the mountain communities, they don't come from Nevadans, nor Oklahomans, no, the majority of these straws come from pigs that live along the coastlines.
Think Fuglosi's district...

There are two restaurateurs in town now that now put "Drinking Straw" in the drinking water.  They just started it about 5 months back.  They said the save money if there not individually wrapped.

For me they should be there like salt, pepper, napkins and a clean table.

So a multi deported felon who kills a woman goes free but a waiter who hands out a straw grows to jail.

So a waitress offers a straw and the customer calls 911.  Wouldn't you love being a cop and get called to a "straw alert"?  If they get this through, I bet it will be just a fine - another revenue scheme to make the police glorified bill collectors.

Law enforcement in CA needs something to do since they do not pursue illegal immigrant criminals.

I just love the part exposing how leftists willingly take the word of a nine-year-old kid, that his methods followed proper scientific procedure when gathering data.
This is exactly the same kind of science they used to build their Global Warming claims on.

The fact of the matter is the leftists, especially CA leftists, don't give a hoot about scientific collection of data.  Follow the money, the saying goes.

I lived among them in Sacramento for 10 years until I retired from teaching there.  What a nightmare that was.  While there, I, through a small business I had, met a lot of the smaller county locals (almost to a person conservatives) and they were being inundated by SF and bay area leftists buying up property in their counties and immediately proceeding to tell them how crappy their lifestyles are and going to town meetings bitching about everything under the sun.  My wife and I got out of there and on to TN asap.

Ohh, believe me, I understand. Native Sacramenten for over 6 decades, watched Ca go from a beautiful, clean Conservative state, to a Marxist breeding ground for a Texas takeover.
Thank God Trump came along when he did.

Same for you as my wife.  She grew up in the Sac area and says how terrific the state was in all respects...but the dems got control of the legislature and the rest is history.  All you have to do is look at the state of education there and when it got started going down the crapper.  Having been a teacher, I will always see education as the first line of defense from the communists.  Right now, it's a sorry state of affairs, however.  Even seeing it start to fester in TN.

It goes deeper than the Legislature. It took the leftist RNC to help the DNC capture voter registration lines, and helped them usher in Gerrymandering.
Yes, the GOP played a blind eye, but people (RNC GOP) were paid off back in the late 60s and 70s to allow the left to create new districts out of whole cloth. Think Maxine Waters.
To this day I do not trust the GOP, though I support those trying to fix it, I despise what the Marxists did to the GOP when they invaded it.

I remember when Mayor Ann Rudin said she was ashamed of Sac, the cowtown and wanted to make it more like the Bay AREA.
It was that leftist that allowed the Sac skyline to become crap. Before he reign, there was an ordinance in place that stated no building could be taller than the Capitol, with the Exception of the Elks Lodge.
We never recovered.

In some respects, I'm more disturbed with Repubs than I am the dems.  I look at McCain and Graham (among a lot of others) and just want to POUND them into submission.  These kinds of Repubs, IMO, hurt us more than the dems ever could, simply because they are not doing their jobs as we conservatives expect.  Just look at the fiasco we have before us with control of all three branches of government.

Makes ya want to scream. :sneaky:

Yep, and all as planned. "15. Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States."
And they did, starting with Nixon under the direction of Roger Ailes, yes, Ailes was the corporate crony connection/open wound for Marxists to get a grip on the party.
