An exclusive look at Cory Booker's plan to fight wealth inequality: give poor kids money
Baby bonds, explained.

By Sarah Kliff

America has a massive, growing racial wealth gap. The median white family today holds nearly 10 times the wealth of the median black family.

Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) is introducing a bill aimed at closing that gap. His idea is to give lower-income kids a sizable nest egg (nearly $50,000 in some cases) that they could use for wealth-building purchases, like a down payment on a house or college tuition.

These "opportunity accounts" would, theoretically, make sure all children have significant assets when they enter adulthood, rather than just those who grow up in wealthier homes.

Socialist Spartacus unveils his plan for a socialist America. I wonder how much this will cost the taxpayer?

I have no problem with this....if he's paying for it.

Giving teenagers tens of thousands of dollars. What could possibly go wrong?

They're not even trying to be cagey anymore.

Now they're just saying straight up, give us your money and we'll hand it right to this minority or that heroin addict.

Because you worked and have something.

Sick bastards.  If they win even one election with this crap it will be a travesty.  The complete bastardization of society.

If Spartacus pulls this one off I'm buying stock in X box, video game makers, mini bikes and tennis shoes.

Cue up the Chapelle skit about when reparations really happens.

Massive investments in KFC franchises, recording studios, truckloads of cigarettes.

I love that guy.  Real humor about everybody, not just skits about republicans and conservatives.

LMAO!  That's screaming hilarious!

Booker, like all dems/dims/socialists are the fat kid telling others "you and he fight" and now we hear those pampered Utopian dwellers telling common folk, "You give that guy your money".

What is sad about Booker pushing this is many will believe him. I was not going to spend much time on it and wonder if he shared how this would be funded?

Well, as to funding, I bet 'Spartacus' and Bernie 'give 'em all free college' Sanders are developing a rational program... uh, huh.

Medicare for all will cost 32.6 trillion over ten years. Then we add free college, basic income for everyone and 50,000 for every poor kid.

We can pay for all of that out of petty cash.

That is a ton of money.  In 2016 3.95 million kids were born; at $1000 each to start them off that is nearly 4 billion dollars a year.  Some of poorest kids get $2000 a year added to the annuity account each year.  Let's say that this means the average kid gets an additional $500 a year.  Over 18 years this will cost over 400 billion dollars; 12% of the federal budget or 5% of the GNP

With all these lawyers with cameras on the street i'm shocked we have so much crime in the world.

There is constitutional law and there is law and order. This challenge to law and order is always the start to loosing our constitutional rights.

Another form of welfare as I see it. I don't know how this will benefit people in any other way. If they have the money free to spend it would be pointless. I guarantee you if I had all that free money at such a young age I would most defiantly blow through it within a year. No one that age is responsible enough to handle that money without additional support.

This is sheer desperation. Notice all the democrats have is "free stuff" since "hate Trump" has not worked. Now they have gone silent on the caravan as it is a gift from heaven for the GOP.
