If we can't win with the most bland, vanilla GOP candidate out there, and we didn't gain in the houses of congress after 4 years of abject Obama failure......what's our plan besides 'wait a while longer'  ?

Hillary's waiting in the wings, and you can bet that the dems and media will milk the first woman president thing just like the Obama spectacle.  The woman vote, the minority vote, the America-sucks vote, will all rush to her just like Obama.

Who's the "let's just wait a while" GOP candidate for 2016  ?  If we let the dems, media, and our own general inaction choose.....it will be some putz like Huntsman.....perfect for the liberal pickin's, and very little middle America interest.  Huntsman will quickly pass on any women or minorities, and pick a veep candidate that looks just like him.

We don't need to be changing tactics just for change's sake.  We need it to stop the leftist / marxist train.

What's our plan for 2016  ?  The dems and media are already destroying select conservatives and hiding Hillary from Benghazi and anything else, in preparation.

Women aren't to blame for the mess the GOP is in at the moment, it's all due to emotional men, real men follow a core set of values.

Agree, West was a good choice, and Bachman as well, I have no idea why the rest voted the way they did, unless Brayner made some serious promises after getting an embarrassing as whipping by Husein.

This is an opinion piece by a regular contributor to my local newpsaper. He also posts on a local board controlled by libs and runs them nuts. I think he sums up pretty well how dems operate during campaigns. If we are going to fight we need to also fight on the same level as the dems.

Did you read the first delusional response from a democrat that can't tell fact from fiction? Anyone with an honest bone in their body knows the man was spot on with truth of what was one of the most disgusting attacks on a man, who after forty years has one of the most stellar records of honesty I've ever heard of. Even after all the filth they threw at him he refused to lower himself to the same level. Personally I think it was a mistake not to respond in kind, especially when you consider the intellectual capacity of the current crop of leftists democrats. Hate and dishonesty seem to be all they are capable of.

They are getting away with it and winning with it, so I'm not sure they care much whether some people like us know they're lying.

They only need a certain number, or certain demographics, to believe everything they say.  And apparently they've found them and locked them up.

I do remember how fervently the libs hated Atwater, then Rove and Cheney.  What did those guys do that worked, and was so hated by the leftists  ?  I know that Rove is part of the problem now, but what did he do that worked in the beginning of GW's run ?

I'd also like to study certain success stories, like the great run that the GOP is on, here in TN.

We know that the basic idea is to get out from under Boehner, OConnel, Rove, et al......but what's the plan beyond that  ?

Some have said "go full Hispanic", with George Bush 3, or Rubio, or Cruz, and so on.  I've always though that Condoleeza Rice was a winner that we've deftly avoided.

I mostly agree but disagree on some points.  I think the GOP has to destroy the lies that are believed by Obama's base.  Nominating a minority might work but the Dems and lib media trash them so bad that no matter their ethnicity they are made out to be no inclusive in that group. 

I am not sure how much influence Rove had on this election. I know he had his pact but I doubt that he had much to do with how the campaign was run.   I personally think that Rove is a brilliant man when it comes to understanding what is going on politically.  I think he is able to see both sides of the issue and that helps when figuring out how to move forward.  I think Newt is also very smart and creative but is so biased that at times he cannot see the forest because of the trees.

Perhaps I have not studied these issues enough to come to the same conclusion as you but I think that in part Romney just like McCain started campaigning like they did not what to lose when it looked like they had a shot of actually winning.  McCain was opinionated and a straight shooter when he ran to get nominated and then when he won he seemed weak and timid.   Romney was never a real powerhouse but why he started using baseless arguments when there were so many arguments that could be backed by solid data is in my mind such a bad mistake.  Part of his allure was that he was pragmatic and informed.

I think then they shut Ryan up and had him parrot campaign slogans instead of talking about what he knew inside out.  Put him on a web site answering every question that anyone could come up with and he would never make a mistake.  I think that if Romney went on the offensive and attacked Obama for every issue that could only be countered with lies that once again could be shown to be lies Romney might have swayed just enough voters to overcome the nearly unanimous vote for Obama by the African American group. 

I know that as the campaign got towards the end I started to think that Romney would not be that pragmatic leader who did what was best for this country but instead was just one more politician trying to blow the right kind of smoke up my butt.  My enthusiasm faded but not enough not to vote for him but if I was on the fence about him at that time I might have not voted or voted for some other party thinking what difference does it make.   I think Bush was bad for this country although not as bad as Obama but if we were just getting another bush well the choice between really bad and just plain bad is not all that stimulating.
