I agree with you, the military sat idly by. I'm sure if President Trump had ordered them to do something, the media would have portrayed it as a coup, a charade, political or some other narrative that the Commies wanted. It is not unlike what Hitler did in Germany when his men torched the German government building while blaming it on the "Communists".
