Rot Roh...I smell something fishy here. What's the chances the NRA caves into Obama and his tit suckers...? This is not going to go well. Something tells me this isn't good at all.

NRA spokesman Andrew Arulanandam said the organization accepted an invitation received from the White House late Friday.

"We are sending a rep to hear what they have to say," Arulanandam said.

People sleep peacefully at night because there are a few tough men prepared to do violence on their behalf.

A foolish man complains about his torn pockets.

A wise man uses it to scratch his balls.

The problem I have with the NRA is that it is a political entity and, as such, it values its own survival more than its principles. If the Obama Regime gets serious about taking our guns, the NRA isn't going to stop them. Oh, they might put up some token resistance, but nobody in the NRA (leadership that is) is going to go to jail rather than give up their guns.

IMHO - of course.

I agree BUT without it's members that will abandon them they will not survive if they cave.. After all like politicians they can't hand out more food stamps and welfare.

Other then the loop hole and some kind of mental evaluation They will not agree to any bans. IMHO

Are you suggesting they will cave and the NRA will fold?

No, their (former) members will be, well, let's just call it otherwise occupied...

I canceled my membership several years ago when they backed a bunch of Dims.
They claimed these were solid 2nd Amendment supporters, I said they are commies claiming otherwise and would vote lockstep to towards gun bans.
With that, I said they were no different than the AARP and said cancel my membership immediately!

Why don't you see gun advocates get free time on the news.  Like all the gun control freaks.   Today I was in the doctor and I had to set and put up with all the BS form the control freaks on TV.

I think after this, members to the NRA will be like customers to GM -- irrelevant, because the folks in charge of the NRA will be bought off and subsidized, in some form or other, with our tax dollars.

I see that as a distinct possibility.

I think Obama needs to get some support from the NRA and I am not sure what if any support they can give.  Since the shooting I am sure that their membership has risen significantly.  Also, go on line and try to buy an AR-15.  Good luck because they cannot be found and a few of the manufacturers state that they have a 1 year backlog  and have stopped taking names for a waiting list.

I was at a local Gander Mountain and the only guns they had in that style were 22 Long Rifle and they only had one left.   Every person who bought ammo was grabbing several boxes and the salesman I talked to said that by the end of the day they would have no 223 ammo left.  He said that their warehouse had already been cleaned out and I mean the corporations warehouse and not just the store's.   So once they were sold out he was told their was a 3 month backlog on ammo.

I think that more and more people are starting to realize that it is conceivable that our constitutional rights are in danger of going away.  I have been a gun owner for most of my life and an occasional member of NRA.  I usually quite because I felt that some of their positions were extreme and kind of hysterical that our govt would march forward a step at a time until our gun rights would be gone.  Not too long ago my view was that they were being kind of extreme and that could never happen.

Well the last 12 years show that when the government finds a cause it is no longer shy about ignoring the constitution.  The last 4 years it seems like the constitution carries no more weight than those tags they put on furniture and mattresses.   They talk about how they swear that they will do all they can to uphold it while they then act in direct opposition to what they say.  So I think our gun right as defined in the constitution have already been limited and I think in the next few months Obama will start to close the noose tighter and tighter.  If it is not stopped here, well I think that in my lifetime and I do not suppose that is a great many year, that owning a gun will be difficult and more trouble than most will be willing to put up with.  As that becomes a reality another Obama like figure will arise and our right to bear arms will be a footnote in our history.

That's because of bored guys like you bringing them.
I asked my doctor why all the lib rag material? He said he let the girls in the office order what they wanted since they were free.
I told him he needs to insist on something men like, when I returned, it was cooking, and women's sports rags.
I came back with a year of VA and NRA zines.

I like what the NRA has done so far, post Newtown.

They've played just the right rope-a-dope so far, keeping low and quiet while the baying and howling played out, and not saying anythhing that can be demonized by the dems, WH, and MSM.

Their increased school security, while of course it will be distorted, demonized, and demagogued by the enemy....was short and sweet and put out there crisply.

Good for them, so far.  Their concept / proposal is actually gaining ground in a few states already, and all this can do is give us data that things are safer in those places, and still unsafe where it's avoided like the plague.  This is all that can be done thus far.

I sort of like Wayne L's decidedly anti-Boehner approach, this far into it.  Time will tell if bribery or despotic threats will defeat it, or if they can hold fast.
