NBC: MEET THE PRESS - Buck: Being gay is 'like alcoholism'

Colorado Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet and his Republican rival, Ken Buck, faced off in a debate. On the topic of gay people serving in the military, Buck said that he believes sexuality is a choice, but added, "I think that birth has an influence over it, like alcoholism and other things."

I think this guy has a point!  Until recently the Mental Health community recognized homosexuality as a diagnosable and treatable mental disorder.  After a schism in the community of Mental Health Professionals, this was removed from the current Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, due to "changing social morais".  So politics changed the diagnoses and treatment of this mental illness which is as dibillitating as the scourge of alcoholism and alcohol abuse!

I remember when they changed it, was around the time the book and T-shirt to match came out "A woman needs a man, like a fish needs a bicycle" along with the fist Earth day movement.

I kinda think birth has alot to do with some but not all.  There are some that are choosing to be gay for whatever reasons and there are some that just are.  Either way,,,,if by choice they are gay,,,then no amount of therapy is going to get rid of that.   Born into it is a whole other beast.  Only thing I know, is when I die they arent going top be there. I will not be conforming to that lifestyle.

The point was how the leftists have made it a concerted effort to change the social mores of the Nation.
But a big thanks to obama and his social misfits, the Dims and their big socialist hammer, managed to expose the Marxist agenda that has been going on for 40+ years.

I understand the point completely. Laws will change they have all ready begun. Gay wants out of the box. In my way of thinking,,,we wouldn't have the dont ask dont tell unless someone kept their mouth shut. The union ,,,marriage gunk... They want what they have been forbbiden.
The koolaide drinkers did this at the last election.  Set the motion, and in my brain, will and have begun to "change" America in a substandard way. Right now all I hear is ear candy and a huge dose of sugar coating so I can choke it down better.

I've known a lot of functional alcoholics in my life.  People who could hold down a job and provide for their family and yet not go on the wagon for a very long while without needing a drink; to cellebrate, to cry in their been, because they were happy, because they were sad, because it was hot, because it was cold...  As long as they didn't drink and drive and didn't interfere with my life, I paid them little mind (what they did in their personal life).  When they got to be a sloppy drunk and began to become dysfunctional (figurtively and sometimes litterally puking all over everything and everyone; then they becam bothersome.

So is it with gays.  If someone is gay; Hey go be gay!  Just don't expect me to go along with any agenda that teaches children that this is somehow an appropriate choice!  It's not!

As too someone being genetically predisposed to being gay, I guess this is much like those who are genetically predisposed to become drug or alcohol addicts.  Too bad so sad, but don't piss up my leg and try to tell me it's only raining!
