What is growing in the Linden Ave. canyon behind the Martin Luther King neighborhood in Redding California ? The numbers of homeless men, women, infants, pregnant women as well as early California prison release AB 109'ers.

The persecution and segregation of blacks yesterday and the persecution of homeless by the City of Redding today.

We have a fire department shooting streams of spiritual innuendos ...

We have a Redding City councilor saying "we should be tougher on homeless"...

We have "Jim Crow" type don't give to the panhandlers and homeless signs . Redding has criminalized homelessness.

Not one word from a pastor or preacher .......

And many of these same people now have the hypocritical AUDACITY to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Dr. Martin Luther King " I Have A Dream" speech???

You're a "Jim Crow" type, if you don't give your money to whomever a liberal says you should  ?

Wow, that's a moronically worthless opinion.

I believe the City, but it does not matter who owns the land be it public or private because its a crime to be homeless in Redding and all of California for that matter.

Spiritual inuendos? You're kinda all over the place. What's your point? Redding doesn't want homeless people? Or is it that the prisoner realignment shouldn't have happened? Or that firefighters are wrong? Or that people shouldn't support mlk because of homeless people? Or are you trying to say most homeless are black (not true) and if we don't helo them, we're racist?

Your post sounds like rambling.

They want God out of the United States of America, but somehow it's the preachers and pastors fault. Go figure.....
People sleep peacefully at night because there are a few tough men prepared to do violence on their behalf.

A foolish man complains about his torn pockets.

A wise man uses it to scratch his balls.

I'm pretty sure Dr King's "dream" didn't include getting hooked on drugs and/or alcohol and squatting on property which doesn't belong to you.

The days of the noble hobo are long since gone. Anyone homeless in the condition you describe are usually involved in criminal activities - anything from petty theft to rape, robbery and murder. That's why "homelessness" is a crime. Fortunately, Redding has its collective head screwed on straight and trying to get ride of them.

Point of order:

Are we really supposed to take someone seriously who has "Kardashian" as part of their handle?

I pretty sure when Martin Luther King talked about "Beloved Community" it did indeed include those in extreme poverty and the homeless ...

Most homeless are veterans of our armed services. Yep sad to say but it's the truth. http://nchv.org/index.php/news/media/background_and_statistics/#faq

Serve this nation and get shit on.

Yes this vet is just a tad bitter.
One of every five Americans you meet has a mental illness of some sort. Many, many, of our veteran's suffer from mental illness like PTSD now also. Help if ya can. :) http://www.projectsemicolon.org/share-your-story.html
And no you won't find my "story" there. They don't allow science fiction. :)

For whom we have myriad federal, state, and local programs.

Not to include wandering around living, sh***ing, p***ing in the gutter like dogs.  On public / private lands that they have no business fouling and freeloading on.

The problem is with people who are filthy, dignity-less, conscience-less pigs.  Not with community support, which already flows like milk and honey in America.

Who owns the land the homeless are squatting on?
Their answer is - whoever needs it  !!

No answer on who referees the knife fights and other various mayhems between the competing "It's mine !" slugs.

As much seriousness as you offer any babbling, rambling high school junior.

The majority of these homeless communes are full of professional homeless, they get the Govt handouts, they are not starving, they could find shelter paid for by us, the taxpayer, but that requires behaving like law abiding citizens and following the rules.

Think about it for a moment, if you found yourself homeless, would you look for others in your plight, or bust your ass to find a job.
Myself, I'd find a safe place away from everyone and make the best of my situation, not with people unable to improve their station in life.

You are no better than those you associate with.
