Good ol' Bawney Fwank has declared that we shouldn't bar openly gay servicemen from showering in the open with straight servicemen. In fact, if we were to do that, it would be "discrimination," in his discriminating opinion.

He says it's a "Sssssilly isssssue," or ssssssomething like that.

Zowie.

Seriously, Billy, how long before the first violence, the first fatalities? You know it'll happen. Parris Island, maybe... Marine recruits are a famously aggressive class of people.

I have read recently that the Marines are NOT happy with DADT.

I don't think that is what a Marine would say.  I have two older brother that were Marines and that is not what they would say.  LOL   ;D

I for one think it is perfectly OK for Barney Frank to shower with a six-pack of Kodiak bears.

The shame of this is...this whole thing makes the homo thing right up front and personal in the military...where before people werent  as homo aware they just did their thing...no after all this noise..its in everyones mind...so let a home be leering or checking out the equipt in the shower and have a solider or marine  take offense crack his jaw for him... who holds the bag.

Ah, nostalgia.....

I remember on one cruise it was a Hospital Corpsman, and on another it was a chaplain's assistant.

"Man overboard!"

Sir, he hit me, busted my jaw, nose and kicked me in the balls.
Any witnesses?
Yes Sir, the entire Platoon watched.
OIC, is that true, did you all see this happen?

Platoon in unison...
Ummmm, see what happen, Sir?

Thats what they want, they want a GI to smack one of them upside the head for raising wood in the shower, that way they can go run screaming to the CO and make an issue out of it.

NOW THEY ARE A PROTECTED CLASS, thats what this whole thing is about.

I can't see how it makes homosexuals a "protected class."

In fact, I think it effectively exposed the exact people it's hoped would benefit to exponentially higher degrees of danger as they attempt to serve in any branch of the military.

For the past seventeen years, if you're a "swish" in the Army or the Marines or the Navy, you had to tone it down and keep it to yourself. Without DADT, there's nothing to say that you can't show up for reveille in pink underwear and heels.

But your fellow soldiers will never talk to you again, and will very likely avail themselves of any opportunity to abuse you in a very physical and very damaging way.

Who gains what here?
