Not having that crowd in attendance certainly improved the overall value of the congress that was in attendance.

The march-past of the Losers...  Albatross-wearers, all.

They were 'protesting that our president's feelings were being hurt'.  Thereby unleashing their anti-sem longings.

I find it really alarming that much of the Western world has become anti-Semitic.   I'm sure we've all seen that video of a Jewish man walking down a street in Paris, being insulted, harassed and even spat upon. Much of Europe supports the Palestinians to the detriment of Israel.  Our government has for some time put pressure on Israel to accept a Palestinian state on it's doorstep, even though the Palestinians regularly sends missiles into Israel and often kills Jewish civilians.  I was not alive before the Second World War, but from what I've read, this same thing happened in Germany and the rest of the world looked the other way.  There is also anti-Christian sentiment even among Western governments, where Christians are in the majority, but whose rights are sacrificed in the name of Islamophilia.  I don't know about everyone else, but I'm tired of it.

Anti-Semitism is, for me, one of the great mysteries of the ages. I find it disgusting and fundamentally wrong. But more to the point, I just don't understand it. Why does anyone hate Jews, merely for being Jews?

I don't understand it either and it's been this way for centuries. There aren't that many of them.  There are only about 13-14 million world wide.  There are more Jews living in America and Canada than in Israel and that's less than 2% of our populations, and about .10 of 1% in the rest of the world outside of Israel.  The  Jews should qualify as an endangered species.

I asked my grand dad that very question (unbeknownst) to me was a Jooo. He sad it was because they tended to be the money handlers, (yesteryear's banksters).
But like you, I questioned what is a Jooo, are they merely a religion, or is it a race, or simply an inherited state of existence, as in carrying lineage via a name like, Goldman etc.

Yeah, on my grandmas death bed, she told my dad to come close, she had a secret she'd been keeping all her adult life, and why they came to America.

She said come closer son, and whispered in his ear, "We're Jewish".

Yeah, more questions than answers....

It's probably a combination.  The male Y Chromo results show that 79% of Jews in Israel and 82% of Palestinians share the same DNA markers which points back to the same ancestors.  Both the Jews and the Arab Muslims believe that they had the same ancestor through Abraham.

Family DNA projects are interesting.  I have a distant male cousin on my maternal grandmothers side that had his DNA markers done.  The originating family to the United States came from Scotland in the mid 1700's around the time of the French/Indian wars.  The DNA male cousin on my dads side shows that the originating family to the US came in the 1600's from England.  Even if you can't find any ancestors past grandparents or great-grandparents, you can sometimes find them through DNA surname projects by matching up certain markers.

The Scottish ancestor was in the halo group of R1b, which some eastern European Jews share.

That makes sense for a blood link, but when my Grand mother told dad, there was no way of knowing the lineage, whether they had converted to Judaism, or had actual blood link.

You would carry the same genetic markers your dad and his male ancestors had. The Jews probably have a lot more extensive DNA studies done than most other lines.  You could get yours tested to find out where your roots came from and possibly migrated from.  Genetic markers do change a little depending how far back they go.  You might even be able to find your immigrating ancestor through genealogy records.  There are a ton of them on the internet.  Ancestry.com is a paid subscription, but sometimes you can get a week for free to try it out.  Another place to search is familysearch.org.  They have some pretty good records too. A lot of census records show immigration dates and from which country.

It's religious heritage, IMHO.  The true heirs to the Israeli lands come from Abraham and Sarah.  Sarah laughed at the spirit (God) that told her she was to bear Abraham a son.  She told Abraham that she was too old to have a child and that he should get and take up with her handmaiden-which he did and the handmaiden had a son.  About the same time, sarah became pregnant and bore Abraham a son also.  Sarah then bade Abraham to put the handmaiden and her child out-so he did and cast them out into the desert.  They have been fighting ever since over who the true heir is-we know it to be the son of Abraham and Sarah and the descendants of their union.    Look up the 12 tribes of Israel and how they came to be.

Too, God's blessings are to his people first-the true  Jews, no matter how far they roam, his blessings will be theirs for the repenting and asking.  Matters not what we, the Gentiles, think.  We can choose to lament His decisions or abide by them.    The whole story is related in the Bible of which I am a firm believer.  I left out some parts to save space but the story is interesting.    God has such a divine love of His people that He has delayed His coming because of them-He wants them all to repent and come home and He will not allow Israel to be destroyed.

All Jews were blamed for the tiny number of Jews who nodded the go-ahead for the Romans to execute the Jew named Jesus.  Nobody in Rome even knew there was a news-story happening.  Eventually they heard that some anti-tax troublemaker named Chrestus was killed.

Jews got blamed by ex-Jews for not wanting to convert to Christianity, afterward.  Romans weren't blamed intrinsically.  They were already blamed for everything.  Jesus had it figured...  " Blame everybody.  Blame nobody.  You guys don't even know what you're doing. "

I have to give some credit to those Democrats who did attend.  I even saw some of them stood and applauded (that's when Nancy Pelosi tured her back on Netanyahu; she heard clapping and turned around to see who on her side dared to step out of the party line).  Immediately afterwards, I surfed to see what the Liberal media was saying, as well as FOX.  One of the InfoBabes on CNN was a=on a panel discussing the speech and she made a real snarky remark about Netanyahu making reference to the Holacaust and Never Again, for political purposes(really sneared it).  Ari Fliecher was on this panel and reacted harshly, telling her (basicly to shut her anti-semetic mouth) that the Holacaust and Never Again are not political; it's reality.  The camera cut to Wolf Blizer and his eyes were darting back and forth to his panalists (as if he didn't know what to do about her getting Bitch Slapped for her comment). Then it went back to  this anti-emetic infobabe who fumbled and bumbled trying to clean up what she said and you could see Fleicher giving her a very cold hard stare!

I think many Democrats are concerned about the fate of the jewish people and the state of israel and this may even transcend politics!  Like the opposing sides of Organized Labor v. Environmentalists, on the Keystone Pipeline.  There are some real divides over some very important issues, within the Democrat Party!
