Race war? That is tired.

I said nothing about a race war.  It may appear that to those who have an interest in making it so; but it would not be.  Nor do I want such.  What I am saying is that when people who identify themselves as a community begin to break the peace and the laws and put the lives, the limbs and the property of others in dangers, they can, at least in these climes, reckon with deadly force, organized and ruthless.  It would be to their advantage and ours, frankly, that they not start it.  We are a region of latent Josie Wells!

Who are you talking about then? What "community?"

That is an uprising, not a civil war. A civil war requires two sides. I don't think that black and white is a viable candidate for that anymore. Even rich and poor doesn't seem particularly viable.

The flash mob thing is just societal pressure resulting in aimless violence. It doesn't have any political or economic goal.

We will never see what happened in the middle east happen here. At least not in the foreseeable future. People here, despite some economic woes, still have too much to lose, too many distractions.

You know Tenn, I hope you are right but let's be honest, we are in a never before seen crisis for any of us folks to include the most senior members on this forum.  For many this is a deppresion, who have not been able to find a job in almost a year.  Under the Great Depression our culture was vastly differnt then today.  Most of our society were God fearing men and women who were willing to work through a crisis no matter how bleak it got.  I don't think we have the same type of society they had when it struck.  WE are a very selfish culture who lives by the minute and adjusted to the on demand feature that is prevelant in todays culture.  We also have the largest group of Americans on entitlements in our history.

I'm a race baiter?  But then a Congressman and woman single out a group of Americans who have decided to exercise their 1st Ammendment and then tell their black communities that these Americans want to lynch you.  That is not race baiting?  What planet are you from because the Congressional Black Caucus has been spending this week calling Tea Party members racist who want to kill blacks or that they need to go straight to hell.  Are you going to tell me you have seen this sort of rhetoric before from political leaders?

Pointing out that someone else is a race baiter does nothing to disprove the fact that you are a race baiter - an assistant dean, former intel officer, yada, yada, yada, whatever, would know that.  ::)

I am not too worried about his creditials or how he phrases it, the point he is making is spot on which I think you are missing.  Let me say this again, I have never witnessed what we are seeing today where political leaders are PURPOSELY dividing this nation.  Pitting Americans against Americans.  For the Black Caucus to invoke lynching to it's members DOES inspire racism and invoke irrational fear or anger towards a group who exhibits none of these claims.  What is their purpose you have to ask.

I find no fault in any of that. However, am optimistic. I think you perhaps underestimate the character of Americans today, especially the younger generations. They simply have not been tested yet. Of course there will be miscreants in any generation.

Again, I hope you are right.  Regarding whether the younger crowd has yet to be tested, some already have and they are those serving overseas in Iraq and Afghanistan.

True, and I'd say they are passing the test, wouldn't you? We also have a large population of youthful entrepreneurs. Hard working people.

They are going to be tested unlike anything we have ever seen in the past.  I hope for our futures sake the pass with flying colors because our very republic is at risk.

Well, then you just haven't lived long enough.

You should have been around in the 60s.

I have to say, I am sensing some very dark clouds on the horizon.  The warning signs are growing larger and larger with each passing day and I am asking myself, could we be heading for some very dark times for this nation come next election.  It appears that the Dems are fanning the fires of racism to provoke their constituents against their fellow Americans.  Who is dividing us?  Politicians who seek more power adn they see that they have no record to stand on come next election adn are now getting desparate.  Check out this article.
My next statement is uncharacteristic of me because, as a former intelligence officer, business executive, homeland security professional and now an associate dean, my hallmark has always been prudence and ensuring my words are measured. But I feel it needs to be said. http://www.rightface.us/forum/topics/guest-post-by-ron-miller-another-civil-war

Ah, I see!

You were not claiming to be all of the above!

You really should have set that part of the article off in quotes or italics or something. I thought you were claiming to be all of that - assistant dean, former intel officer, etc...

I still think that you are just being a race baiter though, by posting this nonsense!

The so caled educated members of congress that are calling the Tea Party members racist are doing nothing more than fanning the flames.  They want race riots.  I know that it will not be the Tea Party that starts them.  It is so sad, because the Tea Party people that I choose to be around are the farthest thing from being racist.  It bothers me that race is even an issue, there are far more important things to deal with.

You think that this is enough of an issue to polarize people into actual combat? I don't.

Really?

How about those flash mobs...

How many links would you like regarding the media calling Conservatives racist when they simply disagree with Obama's policies?
How many examples of the Tea party being called racist that turned out to be false do you need?

If you did not intend on voting for Obama you are a racist. If you disagree with his policies you are racist. If you won't vote for him again you are racist.

It's frustration thanks to decades of liberal policies. And that frustration is bubbling over where once again the black community is left behind. Who's fault is it? Once again ours...
