Yep, just Like I toldja folks, legalizing a drug is not going to take the thuggery out of it.

Two idiots tried to rip off a now legal drug dealer and got themselves shot.

Right. And now that Prohibition is ended no one ever attempts to rob a liquor store anymore/sarcasm.

Our rights dont come from "amendments."

My natural liberty gives me the right to do whatever I want up until I harm someone else.

Not in this country, bucko! Not any more!

You'll have to do better than that if you want to make a legitimate arguement.

The second amendment guarentees me the right to own a firearm....what Amendment have you found that guarentees you the right to possession Narcotics?

How about cold blooded murder?

Utah police shot and killed a man within seconds of storming his parents' home, video of the raid shows. The police had a warrant to search for drugs, but found only a small amount of pot and an empty vial that had apparently contained meth.

I used to live in Roy UT. It is not a run down "drug infested" slum - its a nice middle class neighborhood.

The man was unarmed and he was shot dead by police. And yet, the Weber County Attorney refuses to press charges against the cops!

(And don't give me any bullshit about a golf club being a "deadly weapon"!)

These "no-knock warrants" and these para-military tactics have got to end.

When I was in the military I had to deal with classified documents. We had destruction protocols to be followed in case of an emergency, however, the over riding principle was that no one should ever, repeat ever, put their lives in jeopardy to protect (or destroy) classified documents/data.

If the police would adopt a similar principle regarding collection of evidence - no officer will risk their lives to collect evidence, nor will the jeopardize the lives of suspects* to collect or protect evidence - it would go a long way to stop these senseless killings.

*remember, suspects are just that, suspects and are INNOCENT until proven guilty in a court of law.

Come on now. By now you should be aware that all the powers that be, have to do is say the magic word: "DRUGS"; and most people forget all about things like the Constitution!

It will rapidly assume relevance when the Government comes for your guns. One day Federal law enforcement officers, perhaps former co-workers of yours, will knock on your door (if you're lucky, otherwise they will just bash it in with a battering ram) and demand all of your weapons.

If you refuse or try to resist they will kill you.

I think that is a little more relevant than whether or not pot is legal, don't you?

What part of "2nd Amendment rights" don't you understand?

Once again show specifics me in the Constitution thats psecifically gives you "THE RIGHT" to posses, use or slae distribute drugs and you'll win the arguement.

So your a learned judge now?  Or perhpa the answer to the amazing Kreskin with your psychic powers?

What gives you the right to pronounce "cold blooded murder" on the basis of what you read in sopme newspaper.  As likely the ONLY person on this Forum who has experience Having actually investigated homicides
"proving cold blooded Murder" is rarely just as easy as reading a newspaper account and giving a knee jerk reaction based upon emotion.

Liberal's operate like that...if you want to call your self a conservative you should have more sense.

Maybe not according to the powers that be, but who cares what they think!

In reality, every human being has natural liberty, it is up to others if they are going to respect it or not.

And if they dont, then their own liberty is an open question.

Video's can be edited.

Billy

I'll take that as tacit admission that you saw what I saw and are just as outraged about it as I am, but are unwilling to speak out against a fellow officer.

Take that as I am skeptical of ANYTHING Huffington post puts on their website.

And I don't consider this guy a "fellow officer" since I've been retired many years. Wrong is wrong, but with years of experience to back me up I'm not going to make that call on the basis of a video.

Google Todd Blair Shooting and make up your own mind - that is what I did. The video was not posted by HuffPo and is on other sites in exactly the same condition - it is unlikely that it has been edited.

I am a staunch defender of Law Enforcement. I have been a security guard and, in the military, a security police agumentee and I have walked many a beat in foreign ports as Shore Patrol (mostly Olongapo P.I.). I have great respect for cops and the job they do, so it takes quite a bit to get me this riled up about police conduct.

This Todd Blair thing did it for me. It hit just a little too close to home for me.

Just so you know, I dispise dirty cops, I have had a few I worked with or worked under me arrested, fired for misconduct, stealing, falisfying evidence, colluding with drug dealers etc. And on Mayor Marion Barry's police department there were no shortage of such scoundrels.

But I beleive in evidence, facts and circumstances PROVEN through investigation IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE CONSTITUTION before I make a judgement call. Video's which can be edited are simply not enough.

The law applies to bad cops just like it applies to bad criminals...innocent until proven guilty.
