Let me throw another possible scenario on the table. We know there are a number of dem senators from red states up for reelection in 2014. Would Harry Reid go against Obama and bring it to a vote to allow those senators to vote against it to gain some "street cred'? Of course with Obama's arrogance this would totally p--s him off, but it could help Reid.

Interesting scenario.
I don't think Reid is ready to retire, he would probably end his career if he did push this Bill forward.
Then there is the issue of the party appearing like a coup against their Master when they all reject it.

No, Reid won't go near it, the fuse is lit, he best throw this thing in a deep pit and hope Hussein doesn't pull this crap while he's in office.

That reminds me, we had the Dims in the same place the Pubs are in today, yet they came back.
Politics cycle, unfortunately, with every cycle, we lose ground.

Has there ever been a point in history where the pendulum swung back without revolution?
If not, get ready.

I think the cycles are still pretty clear, at least since the 60's.

We got sick of LBJ and Vietnam, that gave us Nixon.  Nixon's debacle gave us Carter.  Carter gave us Reagan in a mere 4 pathetic years.  Reagan's greatness can be also measured by GHW's election, they actually wanted 12-16 years of Reagan philosophy.  Bush got fairly well screwed by Perot, he may have gotten a second term if not for that.  But I think the electorate did get a little underwhelmed by Bush.  That gave us Clinton.  Dotcom bust and Monica gave us GW.  And war fatigue and the 08 bust gave us BO.  Those are pretty clear pendulums & swings.

Granted, BO's re-election is beyond belief, but we also gave it to him with uninspiring candidates, underwhelming campaigns, and a bunch of clown not voting.

If we can get it together, I think the conservative end of the GOP can ride a backlash of disgust for Obama in 2, then 4 years.

Yep, you got it!
And yes there are variables in cycles, but one only need look at the last 50 years to see a pattern that no one likes either party and is always seeking change.
Sadly it's like choosing between hands in the garbage disposal or peeling skin from the body slowly.
So far, the only constant in all this back and forth has been a slide to the left.

I think after, 8 years of no future for a once first time voter, that will be  26 next election cycle (which happens to be the age where responsibility and looking toward the future kicks in) will see what a miserable job socialists made of his future earnings.
These idiot kids will most likely have lost 8 solid years of building some form of savings, and looking back at constantly being broke and sponging off mom and dad tends to motivate those that want more out of life.

If the GOP had any brains between them, they would start capitalizing on the misery of the disgruntled 20 something crowd.
We actually do have a shot at reversing the damage the Marxists have inflicted upon this Nation, but it takes a party with balls willing to expose the problem and not back down in the face of a leftist media.

It is amazing how people's outlooks change as they move toward thirty. I have to admit I was dem leaning through college. Once I started paying attention and looking at what was being withheld from my paycheck I had an awakening. So I agree wholeheartedly the 20 something demographic is right for the picking IF the GOP comes up with a viable plan.

This is where I think Boo is absolutely correct when he says the GOP needs a new marking firm, one that focuses on the future, rather than falling into the trap of playing defense all the time.
Hell, the Dims learned long ago, throw shit at the fan, and the Pubs will run around like chickens after slaughter.

No, we need to start targeting that generation now, through movies and ads, where their generation looks cool for doing the right thing, rather than the leftists message of "If it feels good, just do it" BS.
We need to point out how they have no future under socialism, but a bright one where the Govt is out of their way, educate them with these messages. Is that too much to ask of these idiots?
