AG Sessions did not disclose Russia meetings in security clearance form, DOJ says

Attorney General Jeff Sessions did not disclose meetings he had last year with Russian officials when he applied for his security clearance, the Justice Department told CNN Wednesday.
Sessions, who met with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak at least two times last year, didn't note those interactions on the form, which requires him to list "any contact" he or his family had with a "foreign government" or its "representatives" over the past seven years, officials said.
The new information from the Justice Department is the latest example of Sessions failing to disclose contacts he had with Russian officials. He has come under withering criticism from Democrats following revelations that he did not disclose the same contacts with Kislyak during his Senate confirmation hearings earlier this year.
Sessions initially listed a year's worth of meetings with foreign officials on the security clearance form, according to Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores. But she says he and his staff were then told by an FBI employee who assisted in filling out the form, known as the SF-86, that he didn't need to list dozens of meetings with foreign ambassadors that happened in his capacity as a senator..........

.......Sessions could be a witness before the House and Senate intelligence panels as part of their ongoing probes into potential Trump campaign collusion with Russia, lawmakers said. And attendees at a classified House briefing last week with the deputy attorney general, Rod Rosenstein, said Sessions' name was raised when lawmakers asked if the attorney general had a role in the Comey firing. Rosenstein, sources said, declined to comment, but noted that such matters could be investigated by Robert Mueller, the recently named special counsel in the Russia probe............

I'm confused, why are we allowing links to CNN (which ups their "hits") when we all know they are liars? I won't click on ANYTHING that has CNN or MSNBC in the URL personally

Ok.  Go ahead and delete then.  I also posted an article from ABC today as well...please delete.  So...what are the accepted news sources these days that we can post?  Quite frankly, is there any news source trustworthy?

It's more the article is a complete non-story, but it's written like it is.  That's what you have to look out for.  There's nothing in this article that would give anyone any suspicion of anything.  The article could have been, and more appropriately, titled "Senator Sessions met with Russian ambassador".

Taxed pointed it out, the title, it's a leftist lie and you fell for it. The best thing is to actually read their BS , dissect it with critical thought, then either retitle it or insult the author for a failed lie.

Posts from the lib sites sometimes are the best source of insights into their biases on a subject. You might argue with MsIndie regarding the content of the post, but my opinion is that reference / use of a lib site is valid and useful for constructive debate.

Caveat, as in clarifier. Always explain why the article is wrong, don't just post verbatim and walk away.
Most here know what you mean, but our readership may not be up to par.

I presume they're at least as intelligent as I am, just not as unhinged. Some day let's discuss what's "par."

Clarifiers! Oog!

May I avoid the long winded essays which blur the brain and swamp a page? I have done so for about 15 years now, at more than just this forum, and I have condensed and boiled these topics down until I can pith on anybody with my brevity.

But yeah, if the original headline is blatantly biased, then turn it around and do it RIGHT back. And if you're good at summarizing, say a single paragraph to let folks know how YOU stand on thus-and-so.... Why, shucks, you're batting triples.

Why not link instead to a right-wing site which dissects the liberal story (often in depth).

As in this case? There never was a story, even CNN admits it buried several paragraphs down.

Sessions initially listed a year's worth of meetings with foreign officials on the security clearance form, according to Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores. But she says he and his staff were then told by an FBI employee who assisted in filling out the form, known as the SF-86, that he didn't need to list dozens of meetings with foreign ambassadors that happened in his capacity as a senator.
After CNN's story published, a spokesman responded to the reporting with a statement, saying that Sessions was instructed not to list meetings like the ones with Kislyak on his form.
"As a United States Senator, the Attorney General met hundreds -- if not thousands -- of foreign dignitaries and their staff," spokesman Ian Prior said. "In filling out the SF-86 form, the Attorney General's staff consulted with those familiar with the process, as well as the FBI investigator handling the background check, and was instructed not to list meetings with foreign dignitaries and their staff connected with his Senate activities."

Remember history class, and how Lincoln suspended Habeas Corpus?
Jump to the 2 minute mark. The Marxist should be in jail as well as the majority of Congress for letting him get away with it.

I really can'y fault Sessions. The democrats have gone so insane that simply living next to a person whose great grandparents emigrated from Russia is grounds for life in front of a firing squad.
