Carly Fiorina and Ben Carson joined the contest this morning. As far as I am concerned the more the merrier. Both of these candidates can be messengers for the GOP. Fiorina can bash Hillary and Carson can reach some folks in the Black community that could be beneficial.

The one thing I don't understand is why Fiorina was on Good Morning America on ABC. I think all GOP candidates should avoid George Stephanopolis like the plague. He is a card carrying Clintonista.

If the candidates continue to do no more than contrast themselves to one another, while laying out their qualifications and vison for America, I agree the more the merrier! As long as they know their real enemy and individually (and collectively) attack Hillary and the Clintons and the failed policies of the Marxists, under Brak Obama, they are all deserving of both our consideration and appreciation.  Should any of them step out of line and start attacking other Republicans, they need to be taken to the Grand Old lWoodshed!     We have seen too much of Blind Ambition when it comes to our candidates. First they violate Ronald Reagan's eleventh commandment, which gives the Leftist brand new talking points to attack, ridicule and demean all of our candidates.  Then they bigin sucking up to the media and reaching out to have a broader appeal and they get "off message" and begin to pander to the 'moderates' (meaning they take a hart left turn),
The press is our chief ideological weapon.

Government does not solve problems; it subsidizes them.

Do we think that Ben actually has a shot? I feel like the inevitable end of his Presidential campaign is a cushy Fox News panelist.

People sleep peacefully at night because there are a few tough men prepared to do violence on their behalf.

A wise man uses it to scratch his balls.

Well people run for different reasons some run to bring their message to the mainstream to make it part of the party platform! A lot of those running have little or no chance of winning the top spot but may be in the position of helping form the debate!
I think Carly Fiorina is running for the VP spot, as are others, She is an anti Hillary firebrand and it could well be her ticket, Just as Carson if it is shown he could draw and split the black vote from the Democrats!

Carson's and Fiorina's announcements all but knocked everybody but Walker out the realm of contention now, in this time-window.  -Which is narrowing steadily for Walker, whether he realizes it or not.

Is it a coincidence that the other 3 'serious' (whom the MSM assumes) GOP contenders are all pushers of Common Core?  -Huck, Jib, Kasich.  Their strategy-teams are most-likely stalled on this one issue, as a spin-pivot to nowhere dilemma.

I'd warn the announced candidates to watch-out for the Baltimore Mom gotcha trap.  (which can include the Maryland DA judgment-rush trap)  I didn't read the account, but Fiorina had to tweak her weekend-comments about the DA yesterday.

All the candidates need to be careful of the MSM "gotcha traps". It will be worse in 2016 because they see a GOP sweep and will do anything to prevent that. As I posted earlier, Stephanopolis should be off limits for any GOP candidate.

So far, with the exception of the impending announcement from Mike Huckabee, there is not a Republican in the field that I would have any trouble voting for in the general election.

Huckabee is a RINO loser!

Also of note, so far, none of our candidates are "retreds" from 2012 - that's a good thing!

Huckabee just declared and he is a retread...  he hasn't improved over the years!  Actually, he has gravitated more to the left....

methinks Fox News exaggerates Huckabee's appeal......   :glare:

HUCKABEE'S ENTRY SETS UP CRUZ DUEL
Mike Huckabee officially joins the GOP field today with a big kick-off in his native Hope, Ark. and a primetime interview with Megyn Kelly. The former governor of Arkansas is a populist favorite, but that does not mean he will have an easy time cracking into the top tier. A new WSJ/NBC News poll shows Huckabee in sixth place among GOP presidential hopefuls, trailing Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, by 5 points. Both have the same aim: to unite tea party and evangelical voters. Huckabee's challenge, both nationally and in the conservative crucible of the Iowa caucuses, is to change perceptions of himself and his candidacy – to remind voters that he can be a fighter and a champion for social conservatives and blue-collar voters. With Cruz's high profile and deep pockets, he and Huckabee are set up for a duel across Iowa's 99 counties for the support of true believers.

Cynical outlook. People here on this forum don't think like that.

Dr. Carson is a man of honor and distinction. He spent his career working in the real world and rose through the ranks by his own merit. He has seen the good, bad, and the ugly, and evolved a philosophy of life he felt was more represented by the GOP. His message, not that I am really qualified to phrase it, appears to be connected to the dignity of man, the worth of the individual, and respect for common sense values. He has never spent a moment sitting around thinking of ways to get something from someone else, I can reasonably assure you.

If your point is to trivialize Dr. Carson or belittle him, you're in the wrong forum. People here think Ben Carson is the greatest thing since the flip-top soda can.

It will be quite interesting in Iowa between Cruz and Huckabee. I don't think Santorum should even consider getting in. I believe SC will end any hopes of Huckabee.

You do not speak for me. I do not believe Carson to be any kind of natural born leader, nor do I believe he has a grasp on his value system as a True Conservative.
Beyond that, he is a good addition to the party, but not as a Presidential candidate.
I'm sure there is a place for him in the next administration as Surgeon General,..
Let him prove himself in an actual political position, something he has yet to be tested on.

I do?  Last time I checked, he wasn't too strong on the Second Amendment.  I sure as hell wouldn't vote for him.
