I'd love for this to be the plan, where Pruitt soft-lands the thing and shuts off the lights on the way out...

Pure drama! Milk it, walking alone in an empty corridor, footsteps echoing loudly, one over the other, reverberating crescendo to the end of a long hallway, turns around, looks at the camera with a very stern and serious grimace, and very slowly from the corner of his mouth, a grin starts to form, eyes brighten, smile takes over his face and a deep belly laugh works it's way out, he reaches up, throws the breaker, as he walks out the door, while his laughter is heard outside the darkened hallway, well beyond the locked door.
"I KILLED IT, THE MONSTER IS DEAD!!!" He bellows in pure delight! 'fade to black'...

The U.S. Constitution does not authorize the federal government
to enforce environmental protection.
Therefore, the function belongs to the states.

Nope - sorry, man you missed it.

As the time draws closer and closer, the EPA employees decide to have one last gathering to cry on each other's shoulders.
A sudden hush sweeps over the crowd, like a cold chill blew in an open doorway.
There stands the man who signed the EPA death-warrant...

Whispers are heard among the gathering, "What's he doing here?  This is the beginning of July, did he come to gloat?  Maybe he sees the value in the EPA...?"

As Trump raises his hand, the gathering falls completely silent, all eyes and attention fixed on Donald, he clears his throat once, and calmly says, "Your Fired!   Now get the hell off this property, and if we find anything missing from your offices, you will be prosecuted for theft of government property.   By-the-way, we will be deducting the cost of this waste of unauthorized government funds on this party.... from your last paycheck.  Should that come up short, expect a Lien on your personal property."

As they file out the door, grumbling and flipping off Donald, he says, "You all did far worse for American Businesses, this is hardly a taste of what you put them through...."

I'm not sure it should be completely killed but rather striped of all it regulatory powers and placed under the Army Corps of Engineers to work on real problems in infrastructure. A major down sizing and down grading is more practical!

Sometimes it's easier to start over then repair something with the very thing that ruined it, the people hired to run it.
Destroy it, and budget the states to oversee it and the Fed can monitor it without teeth beyond the court.

That's a good idea!   Rename it, The Economic Protection Agency, and task it with creating JOBS for everyone on welfare.  Give them a miniscule budget the first year, and base the next year's funding solely on last years taxes collected from the individuals they found gainful employment for.  Run it like an American Business!

Aside from the Fed cleaning up their own messes, why do we even need it? If someone is polluting in a state, then the state should deal with it.
All we need the govt to do is set the laws and allow the court system to deal with an issue that may crop up, but the EPA proved long ago it can't be trusted to do anything other than becoming another arm of a political party.
I don't want the GOP in charge of them either, and the best way to assure neither party uses govt as a weapon, is to eliminate the EPA, and that goes for the IRS as well as many alphabet entities the Fed created.

Prioritized how? Military veterans first, or do we go through some tiresome P.C. antics designed to further humiliate "unemployable" vets? How much teeth will be allowed here? Can people be forced to relocate to hold a given job? Think carefully about that before you say create jobs to improve infrastructure, among deadbeats who want to sit on their asses wherever they're now at.

Needs a stronger funding model. Howsabout road gangs on continuous-moving road reconstruction gangs, or rebuilding bridges and the like? Better pay, higher income taxes under your model, yes? Still not enough to offset welfare paid out to the same people the year before they became employed.
