From a article on Conservative Treehouse about the article and author....

QuoteMr. Wittes is a close personal friend of Mr. Comey, and was the go-between used by Director Comey to leak information to the media, and specifically to the New York Times.

Trump is in the process of cancelling this insurance policy by appointing a lot of conservative judges.

At present, it's taking at least 17 months  to nominate, vet and confirm Trump's candidates.
Anyone notice any sense of urgency on this; demonstrated by Goober Sessions???
Obviously this is another task he's recused himself from.

It is not in Sessions' hands. McConnell runs the senate and it is his responsibility to move appointments through the process.

Emphatically disagree.
An Attorney General, could substantially accelerate the entire process by creating a panel within Justice, accountable directly to him,  for the sole purpose of reviewing the court/trial record of potential nominees, interview them for suitability of experience, intellect and temperament while providing a summary transcript/recommendation to the Senate Panel.

We have separation of powers under the Constitution. All DOJ could do is "jawbone" and senators do not respond to that from a secretary. Many times it does not even work for the POTUS.

I'm asserting that the creation of such a process would call attention to the congenital tardiness of the Senate.
On the positive side it could accelerate confirmations and on the negative side these jackasses would likely get their noses out of joint.
So what; doing nothing leaves the status quo.

So let do everything wrong, so we don't leave the status quo.
