I hope to learn from all of you about your Governors. I will grade my list, but I don't know every Governor. I hope to see your list and hear about your governor.

Bobby Jindal (Louisiana) A
Chris Christie (New Jersey) A-
Andrew Cuomo (New York) B
Martin O'Malley (Maryland) F
Bob McDonell (Virginia) B-
Rick Perry (Texas) D
Nikki Haley (South Carolina) A-
Susana Martiez (New Mexico) A-
Jerry Brown (California) D
John Kasich (Ohio) B
Scott Walker (Wisconsin) A-
Jan Brewer (Arizona) B+
Rick Scott (Florida) C+
Rick Snyder (Michigan) A-
Tom Corbett (Pennsylvania) B+
Sam Brownback (Kansas) B

My Governor: Chris Christie (R-NJ)

Pros: Governor Christie has accomplished a lot since taking office in January of 2010. Without a broad based tax increase, the Governor has reduced state spending and we now have a surplus. In fact, the Governor capped property tax increases to 2.5% and restored property tax rebates. Governor Christie has also been involved in cutting through red tape and creating tax incentives to bring jobs back to New Jersey, we have added around 55,000 private sector jobs since he's been in office. Governor Christie also signed sweeping pension reform which asks public sector workers to contribute more into their health and benefit funds. The Governor has expanded school choice for high schools and recently passed sweeping tenure reform. Furthermore, Governor Christie has made sure New Jersey stayed out of regional "cap and trade" and has vetoed higher taxes.

Cons: Chris Christie has refused to take on the issue of illegal immigration at the state level. He has said that it's a federal issue. Also, the Governor has yet to deliver a broad-based tax cut, though he has proposed a 10% across the board income tax cut, but democrats in the majority here have it stalled and the recent Hurricane caused it to be stalled further. Also, the Governor has sometimes embraced questionable figures in New Jersey's muslim community, including nominating a Hamas supporter to the state supreme court.

You might be surprised to know I have an open mind regarding 2016. Christie is on my list, but he's not the only one.

The purpose is to learn about each other's governors to compare to see if our governors are doing a good job or not.

Nikki Haley-SC Gov.  A and I'll add a + when she straightens out the good ole' boys.  On the upside, she is trying to help bring jobs to this state, isn't a racist, believes in fair immigration reform, is a self starter on issues of fiscal responsibility.  On the negative side, she's just too darned naive even now after the good ole' boys did their level best to keep her out of the state house.  Don't care for her as a 2016 candidate for Pres., or any other woman with the exception of Jan Brewer, were she to try for the presidency.  I would have thought that Jim Demint would have made a good candidate for the presidency in the last term.  These opinions are not final for me, alot can happen in the ensuing 4 years that would change my mind.

It depends on what she is doing!

The job of governor is administering the state government, not making personal/public appearance. I'll take a governor that spends his/her day in their office doing the job they were elected to do over a governor who spends all their time giving speeches at shopping malls and college football games.

The less I see of any politician, the better!
