U.S. Acting Sec. Def.: Not surprising that China, Russia, Cuba, and Iran recognize Nicolás Maduro as his is an issue of freedom vs. tyranny. Echoing @POTUS, we're considering all options in support of the Venezuelan people.

Whats in it for us? If we're going to send US SPecial forces or what have you into Vz then what do we get in return? I want something more than good feeling and ousting a deserving Commie rat like Maduro who is responsible for smuggling tons and tons of dope into the US, yeah he should get the axe on G.P's.

If one listens to Pompeo and Bolton it would appear Colombia and possibly Brazil would supply the forces with American support.

The bigger threat is doing nothing. Syria and Russia would love a highway into South America, which is why they are backing Maduro and China as well.
I think this thing can be solved without military intervention as Trump is playing cards against Russia and I think Putin will blink, but if that doesn't happen, there are still the neighboring countries of which do not want a refugee crisis, they might be persuaded to use force.

But can one actually call it a coup? A coup is an illegal act of overtaking a govt. Maduro purportedly stole the election, as in coup, and the people are demanding a new election, or that he step down and allow the real President elect to take over.

@JulioBorges reports the start of the preparatory meeting for the Lima Group plenary. He affirms that they have a proposal of "forceful measures" so that the region exerts even more pressure against Maduro, his "family and front men".

I hate commies but we should butt out of VE. The US will get blamed for everything bad forever. 1/3 of VE strongly supports Maduro because they are morons. They deserve him.  VE serves as a good example for many.

VE invited some Russians and Chinese in which is their right. The Russian missles are defensive AA missiles delivered years ago. Not our problem as long as we do not have warplanes flying over.

The wannabe president never got elected to anything. Plus, I think he is a socialist as well.
