Idiocy on stilts -- Hand a 9-year-old kid a loaded automatic Uzi

I don't even know where to start on this one. Of course, it'll come back on the NRA and gun-owners. Such things always do. But where's the sense in it? Where's the logic? What possible reason could there be for putting a fully-loaded fully-automatic Uzi submachine gun in the hands of a 9-year-old girl and allowing her to pull the trigger?

Here is the story. Maybe you all can figure it out.

As Ron White says, "You can't fix stupid", but libs would want to pass a law to prohibit it.
"If you can't run with the big dawgs, stay on the porch!"

He learned his lesson. He won't be doing that again. He may win this year's Darwin Award.

Mods, feel free to slide this one over to the Nut House, maybe? Up to y'all.

I have to say I don't think the shooting instructor learned his lesson, or anything else. But there is certainly a lesson here for all other folks so employed: Brainless acts on the firing range are not likely to get you to retirement.

About a year ago, an 8 year old boy shot himself with an uzi in the head at a range by accident the exact same way. I think idiot parents consider the uzi small so they think a child can handle it. And the same idiot parents are dumb enough to record them shooting it. The incident with the boy who shot himself is also on video.

I feel terrible for that poor little girl who accidently killed that man and had to witness it point blank in her face. Sad enough that the guy died but the extended tragedy will be in this poor girl's life.

There are three variants of the Uzi smg. My understanding is that the child was firing what is known as the Mini-Uzi variant...smaller and lighter in weight than a full size Uzi and with  a cyclic rate of @ 1,000 rnds per minute. A gun like that is NOT kid friendly, even if fired in semi-automatic mode.

Very sad for that child. Negligence or not on the part of the instructor, she'll have to live with what happened for the rest of her life.
