From the article:

California Governor Jerry Brown recently unveiled a "draconian" budget plan for 2011 that includes 12 billion dollars more in spending cuts and that maintains 12 billion dollars in recent tax increases.

Though I'm no fan of Governor Moonbeam, I sure wouldn't complain about him doing these deep spending cuts and even the tax increases. If he can do anything, it'll have to be with spending cuts and taxes.

According to one survey, approximately 1 out of every 4 Californians under the age of 65 has absolutely no health insurance.

This is garbage. California has their own medicaid program. It sucks-- you have to wait up to a year for an appointment, but they do have their own medical system much like Massachusetts.

So the big question is do we allow states like CA to file for bankruptcy? That is what is being discussed, as well as bailing them out. I say NO to both. Let them go through reorganization and make arrangements with creditiors to pay off their debts. To let them file for bankruptcy would destroy their credit rating which would make things worse.
