From a political perspective, considering the 2018 midterms, what should we work on in 2018: entitlement/welfare reform, immigration reform, infrastructure, or try to tackle healthcare again?
Additionally, do we have time for 2 major things this year or just one?

Welcome to the forum T Hunt.

Of course, much of depends on who the Speaker is, and I'm hoping for a vote of No Confidence to hit McCON-nel.
Once that leftist is out of the way, we should tackle everything, including building the "WALL".

Hello, Im lloking forward to some good discussions here. How soon do you think rino McConnell will be challenged?

My personal thought on the agenda is that entitlement/welfare reform shld wait until trumps second term since he basically said thats what he wants to do. Plus to tackle that now, after tax cuts, can look like taking from the poor to give to the rich.
Then i think immigration shld wait until after the midterms so the dems cant use that on us and fire up their base.
I might want to wait on healthcare until after the midterms because i believe we will then have a supermajority in both houses, so we could do much more with it.
Thats leaves infrastructure for now. Im not sure what that looks like, but my concern is that the dems will get on board and i dont want them to have a single leg to stand on for the midterms. So trump needs to put something in it to keep the dems from voting for it, while still keeping the rinos corraled.

If Moore wins his seat due to voter fraud, the light will be on McCON and his willingness to give that seat to the Dims.
That, I believe will be his downfall.

Couldn't agree more! I'd rather he wait till after the Midterm bloodbath the RINO will receive, then, and only then should he proceed with his agenda, in the meantime, let the RINO spin their wheels in trying to get any Bills to his desk.
Obviously, there is a lot of resistance within the party, so much so, they were only to send a single Bill to his desk in his first year.

About the only thing I can see this lame congress trying to push through would be the infrastructure repair. Mid terms are too close to tackle entitlement reform, ( actually, even right after the midterms, it will be too close to the next midterm for congress to act on entitlement reform) BUT, if Trump decides to seek a second term and runs on that promise to fix the entitlement programs, we could see progress. I do believe the liberals will lose seats this midterm, and if Trump runs again, the libs will see a blood bath, meaning voters will expect reform. RINO'S take notice.  :scared:

From a strategic point of view, Infrastructure should come first because it is the one issue he can get democrat support. I am wary of that though because it can easily become a pork filled monstrosity much like Obama's stimulus. Healthcare will have to be addressed because with the mandate relegated to the Obama scrapheap premiums will rise more than usual. Immigration will be addressed because the democrats will demand it and Trump can use it as a bargaining chip.

A GOP/Trump agenda is fantasy land, as the R establishment relentlessly opposed Trump every step of his  nomination.
And despite all the happy talk, bromides and platitudes, they still do!!!!!

But lots of rino's have decided not to run again. Maybe they see the handwriting on the wall that the public is sick of them?

Six months ago, I would have agreed... but, I think the Moore loss and the GOP waking up to voter unrest might be 'warming the GOPe to Trump' - we shall see.  I'm still digesting the aspects of the TAX bill, which has much more in it than just Tax cuts.

Obamacare has the mandate removed.   That's a big one.
I read Cruz's bit, $ for Homeschoolers was removed, that sucked the NEA won that one.

There's the battle of the budget, and who knows what CRAP the GOPe will squeeze back in.
