Polls are pointless when the votes are spread out to all 986 candidates. People will start dropping out after the first debate.

I don't know if they will drop out that fast but they will fade into the background in the media.  Most do not have the resources to stay relevant in a heated atmosphere.  And after the first debate things will definitely heat up!

Yep, most candidates budget up to the first debate, hoping to get a much needed bump, but for those that don't, they toss their support to those they mostly align with.
Cruz will get an amazing bump to first place after the first debate.

I don't trust the polls to reflect that!   They will manipulate.... as usual!

Yeah, I was just referring to your "bump after the first debate" remark.

The media is so much against Cruz that their post debate polls will likely be unreliable.  That is all I meant.

Ah-so, here it is!!

Everyone here can vote.

These types of polls are uncontrolled and useless!

That is true to a large extent...... except they do show the enthusiasm within the audience of that particular site.  In this case it is Breitbart which is a fairly well read conservative site.

It tells me that Ted is still a very popular guy with the base.

The site wouldn't even let me vote! Wanted to fill all three blocks as undecided! My computer has always had trouble with their site. Begs the question, How many others had trouble registering their vote?

Yeah, that's the one thing polls can expose, is the sine wave in support, good or bad, it does show some margin of change.
I always look at the stats and how often the formula is used.
Too many times these polls are paid for by the candidates, and worse yet are the network generated polls.

I am reluctant to post this week's power index from Fox News because it doesn't ring true to me.

I am glad to see Fiorina in there. She is very good at pointing out the truth about Hillary. Her business like approach is also refreshing.

I agree.  She has handled herself well and with distinction.

I'm a sucker for "Polls" and participated in yet another one yesterday.  It was with Patriot Action Network.  I received this response today.......

Yesterday we ran a pre-debate poll/survey for our readers and the results are devastating news for the GOP establishment hoping to see conservative/insurgent candidates slide in support. More than 6,500 of our readers took the survey/poll and the results are in.

We asked for age, gender and state. We also asked which candidates primary/caucus voters would refuse to vote for under any circumstance. We'll be taking a deeper look at the data in the coming days and will release more results before Thursday night's debate. That said, the first question asked voters who their first choice is as of today and we're releasing the results of that question here.

My first choice for President in the GOP primary is:

1) Donald Trump - 37.65%
2) Ted Cruz - 25.54%
3) Scott Walker - 11.25%
4) Ben Carson - 10.26%
5) Rand Paul - 3.64%
6) Mike Huckabee - 2.79%
7) Carly Fiorina - 1.80%
8) Marco Rubio - 1.73%
9) John Kasich - 1.41%
10) Rick Perry - 1%
Chris Christie - Under 1%
Bobby Jindal - Under 1%
Jeb Bush - Under 1%
George Pataki - Under 1%
Rick Santorum - Under 1%
Lindsey Graham - Under 1%
