This map is from Dave Leip's US Election Atlas (an EXCELLENT reference site).

The darker BLUE a state is, the more it TRENDED REPUBLICAN relative to the national vote from 2008 to 2012

The darker RED a state is, the more it TRENDED DEMOCRAT relative to the national vote from 2008 to 2012

Yeah, the south-east is getting more liberal.  Great job as usual, JRP.

No, no - you misunderstand. This is fact, not opinion or prediction. The fact is, Obama did better in the SE *RELATIVE TO HIS NATIONAL NUMBERS* in 2012 than he did in 2008.

He actually did better in Mississippi and Louisiana than he did in 2008.

No it isn't, and no he didn't.  You, as usual, have no clue what you're talking about.  Quite sad.

McCain won Mississippi 56.2% to 43.0%
Romney won Mississippi 55.2% to 43.8%

That's a smaller margin.

Ha, he is clueless.  To say Georgia, for example, was MORE for Hussein in 2012 just exposes complete idiocy.

You're confusing "swing" with "trend".

It's hilarious... what is really crazy is he claims to live in Atlanta.

Let me explain this as clearly as possible, using Georgia as an example:

2008 National margin: Obama +7.26%
2008 Georgia margin: McCain+5.20%
2008 Georgia Republican lean: +12.46%

2012 National margin: Obama +3.86%
2012 Georgia margin: Romney +7.80%
2012 Georgia Republican lean: 11.66%

From 2008 to 2012, Georgia SWUNG 2.60% Republican (meaning that Romney did 2.6% better)
From 2008 to 2012, Georgia trended 0.80% Democrat (meaning that it was 0.8% closer to national margin)

That is a factual assertion. It's not my opinion, it's a mathematical, factual assertion. How is it wrong?
