1,300 arrests Thugs nationwide Immigration and Customs
« on: May 11, 2017, 04:08:04 PM »
Pieced from varying articles.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced its largest anti-gang operation ever on Thursday, a six-week operation that netted more than 1,300 arrests nationwide.

Though the effort was led by ICE, the focus was not exclusively on immigrants. Of the arrests, 933 were US citizens and 445 were foreign nationals, though ICE could not provide how many were in the US illegally. Of the total arrests, 280 were solely immigration-related.

ICE said three of the arrested individuals were previous recipients of protected status under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, instituted by the Obama administration for undocumented immigrants brought to the US as children.

Criminal violations or being deemed a public safety threat can void a person’s DACA status.

ICE also noted that 10 of the arrests were of people who crossed the border as unaccompanied minors, eight of whom were confirmed to belong to the MS-13 gang, ICE said. Mara Salvatrucha, known as MS-13, is strongest in Central America, especially El Salvador, but extends its criminal enterprise across the US, including cities like Los Angeles, New York and the Washington region.

Of the 1,378 total arrests, 1,095 were confirmed to be gang members or affiliates of a gang, ICE said, including mostly Bloods, followed by Sureños, MS-13 and the Crips.

Of the total arrested, two-thirds were U.S. citizens, one-third were foreign nationals from 21 countries in South and Central America, Asia, Africa, Europe and the Caribbean.

Michigan accounted for 20 of the total arrests, all of which came from Detroit and Flint. Of the total arrests,13 were members of Detroit-based gangs, including the Latin Count, 18th Street, Cheddda Avenue and Surenos. Seven Flint gang members also were arrested and represented the Spanish Cobras, East Side Crips, and IMOB.

That sounds like just a drop in the bucket, but it's a start.  Would be nice if they could do that every week.

I agree. It's not as if they have so few to pick from after an 8 year long open border invasion.

The Detroit News site doesn't have anything, but the unabashedly liberal Detroit Free Press did a rather perfunctory rewrite of what appears to be the same story as what Solar posted --- until the Freep writer tacks on what's been happening from MoTown cops....

Quote
In Detroit, there has been an ongoing effort by law enforcement to crack down on gang violence, with local, state and federal law enforcement groups teaming up to dismantle what they consider the most violent gangs in the crime-plagued city.  In four years, the operation — known as the Detroit One initiative — has led to the arrest of more than 100  gang suspects. They include:
• 17 members of the Seven Mile Blood street gang.
• Nine members of the Bounty Hunter Bloods street gang.
• 13 members of the Latin Counts street gang.
• 14 members of the Phantom Outlaw Motorcycle Club/Vice Lords street gang.
• Four Vice Lord members in state court on armed robbery charges and a Vice Lord leader charged under the federal street gang statute in his role in that armed robbery.
• Nine Vice Lords members on racketeering charges stemming from the shooting of four family members who were gunned down at their home on Detroit’s northwest side;
• Three members of the Band Crew street gang.
• 10 members of the RTM street gang.
• 24 people on drug conspiracy charges of running heroin, crack and cocaine rings in 16 different houses in the east-side Ravendale neighborhood of Detroit.

The story emphasizes that not all those arrested were gang members. Some were arrested on administrative issues (parole violations, probably) and more straightforward criminal complaints.

The article I read on this a couple days ago showed a real concentrated effort on the east coast fro long Island to DC. Seems to me there will be more coming as they move their main operation to different areas! I would guess that they are using the RICO act and if that is what they are doing these gang bangers are in a lot of trouble! Under RICO if a gang can be shown to be connected to another group commits a crime they can all go down for it!
Watch for these guys picked up to start rolling over on all their other buddies all over the country! Facing Federal court and Federal charges in a Federal system that has a 96 present conviction rate the only real option they have is to try to deal or fall on their sword.

California military base construction workers detained by ICE
« Reply #9 on: May 13, 2017, 04:06:29 PM »
Ten years working as an Illegal Alien and still can't speak English?

Too: Why aren't the 'contractors' being locked up?

Quote
Hugo Mejia grabbed the lunch his wife made for him early in the morning May 3 and took off for his job at a new construction project on the Travis Air Force base in Fairfield. But the 37-year-old father of three from San Rafael didn’t return home.

Mejia and a coworker, Rodrigo Nuñez from Hayward — both undocumented immigrants from Jalisco, Mexico who have been in the United States for more than a decade — were detained on the base after a military official discovered they did not have valid social security numbers during a routine identification screening and reported them to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

ICE officials have placed both men in expedited deportation proceedings without a court hearing — known formally as “reinstatement” — because they each have old removal orders issued more than a decade ago after border agents caught them attempting to illegally cross the border. Neither of them has criminal records, according to their attorney.

.Hey I'll give you one! How about lying and fraudulent id to gain access to a US Military facility? Beats me how our security on this base got so lax that he wasn't caught until now! Isn't the argument to allow the illegals to stay is "Who will pick the crops?" Obviously there aren't many tomato farms on a US Air base. What job did this guy hold? Think it may be one a citizen of the US might want?
