Early on. Clapper was asked about whether or not we were doing exactly what the Russians did in our election.  Clapper said that any of the state actors with the ability to do so, engage in these activities.  When he was pressed about the activities of the United States in this regard, he said that although he couldn't reveal classified information, "people who live in glass houses can't really be throwing stones". He was asked about whether or not the Russians had influenced the vote and he said that was "a political question" he couldn't answer, but they had no influence on the actually votes which were cast.
