Maybe it's me, but I continue to see Pence as part of the establishment and it seems once again he is contradicting what President Trump has stated.

'UNWAVERING' COMMITMENT: Pence tries to assure Europe that US will support partnership

Vice President Pence on Saturday worked to assure NATO allies that the United States would be "unwavering" in its commitment to the trans-Atlantic alliance.

Pence, in his first overseas trip as vice president, told the Munich Security Conference that President Donald Trump intends to "stand with Europe." He sought to calm nervous European allies who remain concerned about Russian aggression and have been alarmed by the U.S. president's positive statements about his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.

"Today, on behalf of President Trump, I bring you this assurance: The United States of America strongly supports NATO and will be unwavering in its commitment to our trans-Atlantic alliance," Pence said....

Pence said the U.S. would demand that Russia honor a 2015 peace deal agreed upon in Minsk, Belarus, to end violence in eastern Ukraine between government forces and Russia-backed separatists.

"Know this: The United States will continue to hold Russia accountable, even as we search for new common ground which as you know President Trump believes can be found," Pence said...

...he vice president's comments come just weeks after Trump called NATO obsolete, according to a Bloomberg Politics reports about an interview the then-president elect gave to a German paper.

"It's obsolete, first because it was designed many, many years ago," Trump said. "Secondly, countries aren't paying what they should" and NATO "didn't deal with terrorism."

I really do not see a disconnect between what Pence said and what Trump has said. Trump made three comments and I will deal with them separately:

1) "It is obsolete, first because it was designed many, many years ago."

A true statement. NATO is 70 years old. The world and Europe have changed and the organization does need to take a look at itself and determine today's actual threats.

2) "Secondly, countries aren't paying what they should" .

Another truth and Trump wants all countries to pay what they should be paying. Prior US presidents have not pressed this issue.

3) "NATO "didn't deal with terrorism."

No debate here. The majority of the NATO countries have not addressed terrorism and their own open borders policies. This goes back to his first statement and confronts the purpose of NATO is protect members from the the Soviet Union. Terrorism and radical Islam is just as much, or more, a threat as Russia today.

Nowhere did Trump say he did not Support NATO.

quiller

Pay the same dollar amount as the average of everyone except the U.S.

Not the percentage of nation GDP, or anything else. Just the total dollars spent by each NATO member nation, less the U.S. contribution, divided by number of nations.

So how ya gonna fund Week #2, you chiseling assholes?

Yep, same here, but if you believe what the media translates it to the public, Trump and Pence are at odds.
This is where titles get people into trouble, where they assume it's the truth despite the reality of the lie.

Trump gives the speech on budget, says Congress needs to be more niggardly.

Media uproar, Trump insensitive to black community.

The only thing I read anymore, are direct quotes, fuck the leftist media, including FOX.

Speaking of the outrage over CBC question. The MSM says it is racist because the reporter who asked the question was Black. Hell, she asked the question and he said he would like to meet with them. Then just asked if she could arrange the meeting. WHat the MSM is trying to distract from is the CBC does not want to meet with Trump. Is that position racist?

I don't disagree with what Trump stated, I interpreted him saying that NATO is obsolete and the fact that they don't deal with terrorism as his unwillingness to support it.

Cryptic Bert

We're always the ones making the commitment. That is why these pathetic countries have all this money to create the sort of utopia Bernie Sanders goes on about. Norway can give it people free everything because it doesn't need much of a military. It has NATO and NATO has the US.
