'They have no place': Rousted, relocated, Redding California homeless have few choices.

One City Council member even heard threats of baseball bats against homeless and their camps, Redding Police release map!

Redding California Police release map of known homeless camps at a city wide Redding Convention Center safety meeting ( #SafeRedding ) after Redding city council person Missy McArthur receives messages from vigilantes wanting to go out into the homeless camps and send them a message with baseball bats.

Im getting calls, emails, and on – the street comments about this No.1 issue. Things like : "Let's take some bats and show transients we don't want them here."

Seems a police and city official created dynamic hardly conducive to the health, safety, and well being of our local homeless men and women, as well as the growing numbers of our homeless families, children, and veterans.

Just like clockwork, stories about "homeless" people and their plight start turning up anytime the Republicans come to power in the Congress or take the Presidency.

Of course, those homeless people were there all along and the Democrats didn't do a damned thing to help them. There were no stories about them then because it didn't help the Democrat cause - they weren't "useful".

Now, however, the Democrats need the homeless to help demonize those EVIL Republicans!

Just like fucking clockwork!

Naw, just a homeless advocate in shock about how many homeless we have living in camps in the bushes and along the river. In shock seeing the growing amount of homeless hatred towards our homeless including homeless veterans.

And just around the holiday's these things are brought to light ... Unless you too would like to see a decrease in the surplus population

I don't know about the "clockwork" thing, Darth. If you check the link in the OP, you'll find a Blogspot page entitled "Redding Homeless Blog." What do you think they're going to "report" on?

In any case, the OP's headline seems to be a quote from a tweet posted recently by Katie Gillespie, a reporter for Redding's Record-Searchlight newspaper. However, when I searched the paper's recent archives for Gillespie's work, I came up with just one article about the local Good News Rescue Mission. Not only does the article portray the mission in a positive and sympathetic light, it also mentions the number 500 -- the number of people the mission has to turn away from each year's free Thanksgiving meal because the facility lacks seating for everyone who shows up. And while roughly 500 are "turned away," they are provided bagged meals "with turkeys and sides for families to prepare at home on Thanksgiving Day."

It may be time for our esteemed moderators and administrators to take a critical look at Freshie Kardashian's posts. This one appears to be bullshit.

Then why don't you do something about it, aside from blaming others?
Take up donations to buy some land so these people have a legal place to camp?
All I ever hear from you bleeding heart activists is someone needs to take responsibility.

Well, I'm appointing you responsible for these people. Now get out there and raise some money to purchase some land.

Well, if you read between the lines (and I tried to make this point), the quote Freshie used as his headline for his OP (taken from Katie Gillespie's tweet) does not contain the word 'homeless,' and does not appear to even pertain to the homeless. According to the article I linked to, the mission had to turn away around 500 again this past Thanksgiving -- and again, they were turned away with free bag dinners.

In fact, Gillespie's article doesn't contain the word 'homeless.' The only person even mentioned as being without a home was protrayed this way:

QuoteGreg Kroll was also among the crowd eating at the mission. Kroll lost his home in Hayfork two months ago when his Social Security payments were reduced and has been on and off the streets ever since.

And, as Gillespie reports, Kroll was not turned away. Indeed, the mission has taken him in:

Quote"I was panhandling and begging for food," Kroll said. "I'd never done that before."

Now, he's staying at the mission. Though he'd rather be home, Kroll said he's grateful to have "a bed, a meal and a warm place to be."
