Forgive me if I disagree...

Obama is anything but inept! He is cold, calculating, and knows exactly what he is doing - and he does it very well! He said he would "Fundamentally Transform" America and that is exactly what he is doing. He is quickly turning America into a Marxist state.

On a larger scale, the Obama Administration is the culmination of over 50 years of Communist infiltration in the the heart and soul of America! It is not an accident that the NEA is a conduit of Leftist though. It is not shear happenstance that messages of socialism and anti-capitalism permeates nearly every movie or T.V. show which slithers out of the Entertainment Industry.

This was all planned...

People who underestimate Obama and the Lefts ability and determination to transform our country into a newer, better version of the old Soviet Union have and will continue to do so at their own peril.

Christmas letter to Santa Claus from the son of Federal Non Worker:

Dear Santa

When i grow up I want to be just like my Daddy.  As you know he is not very smart and could not cut it in Private Enterprise so he went to work doing nothing for the Government and getting paid twice as much as those idiot Slaves in Private Enterprise.

I want to do what my daddy does and take pieces of paper from one office to another so I look like I am doing something important but I do not want to compete AT ALL.  I don't want to get laid off for being lazy and ueseless and I want to participate in the Elite Government Class of Entitiled Employees.  I want to help steal money from the Slaves who are so dumb they actually work...I want to go on Cool Meeting Trips to Las Vegas and "Party".  I want to get 65 Paid Days off per year and Perks for Life.   I want to be a worthless Government Worker!

Santa, Can you please help me?   I will promise to be good and say PC things joining the PC Religion of the United States as soon as i can get confirmed by getting a trophy in the 7th Grade for making C's.  I know just how important C's are the the PC Cause.

Thank you Santa and merry Christmas.

Ps .....we have put out sugarless and carbohydrate Free Cookies along with Non Dairy milk made out of Soybeans for you this year.  You will be happy to know those treats cost 3 times as much as that garbage you used to eat before you joined the Great Government Religion of PC.

The Chinese people call this Kleptocracy, though their form of Govt has been around longer, so I imagine this is where it starts.
Convince the incompetent they have been abused by the rich, and the Govt. is your path to revenge.
This election is much like a gang robbery, where they swarm a business, clean it out and leave; except there will be no money left to restock the shelves when they're done.....

Your characterization of Federal workers is both inaccurate and unfair.

I have worked for the Federal Government for 25 years, as a civilian electronics mechanic for the U.S. Coast Guard.  Typically, we perform electronics upgrades and installations, often traveling more than 6 months/year.

The man-hour rate for our work - the money it costs the taxpayer - is around $70 / hour.  That's NOT what we earn - it's what it costs you.  I earn around $25 / hour - more than the private sector, yes.

However... two things you must remember:  I have extensive, significant exposure to the work quality of private electronics companies... and - almost universally - their work is VERY substandard, woefully substandard.  On numerous occasions, I have been called out to repair the system they've installed, after they're "finished."  They adhere to the letter of their contracts, and refuse to deviate - even in cases where the installation will NOT work, if wired to the parameters of the contract - they DO NOT care.  At least 50% of the time, it is necessary for follow-up repairs to be made, after private contractors finish an installation.

IMO -  the source of problem is that the individual worker at most private contractors earn $10-$15 / hour - and, as a result, they attract workers of less skill and experience.  Also, the ONLY priority for these workers is SPEED - because time is money, and the more installations they perform, the more money they earn for the company.  Quality is not a priority.

However, private contractors cost SIGNIFICANTLY more - $125 and up - per hour, than the cost of the civilian federal worker, to the taxpayer.  Yes, the workers earn less money, but the company charges the taxpayer more.  Less quality at a higher price...  I could list at least six private contractors I'm very familiar with - and each one costs $100+ / man-hour, to the taxpayer.

The other benefit of federal workers is that we guarantee - for forever - the continuing operation of our installations - because, as (civilian) members of the Coast Guard, we've bought into it - Service to the Fleet is our motto, and we take it seriously.  The moment that private contractors step off the boat, their "warranty" expires - because the profit has been realized.

Your characterization of the federal work force is both flawed and insulting.

Your understanding of the Fed contractual agreement is extremely flawed.
You yourself said it
QuoteThey adhere to the letter of their contracts, and refuse to deviate
That's because our hands are tied, if we deviate one iota, the contract is null and void.
I know, because, I'm a retired Defense Contractor, if I did the right thing and didn't stay within the bounds of the contract, I didn't get paid.
The fault is with the Govt and it's contract system, not with the worker.

Oh, and you don't see an issue with $70.0 per hour, as opposed to the private sector?
Who do you suppose built those systems you claim were faulty? The private sector, and it is strict Fed controls over the private sector that tie our hands when performing our duties.
That's right, overpaid bureaucrats making $70.0 an hour because no private industry would hire them.

This happens everyday in the private sector as well. It's called payback. I have been fired for not following the letter of the contract, yes not doing a job I knew was wrong and was not going to work.
Here is an example when I was involved with local politics.
The township put out a bid for a small road project using specs from the township engineer. The specs use inferior products and most will bid using material to code. Low bid is won by a local good ole boy who bid less then the proper material would even cost. Within a week of starting he stops work and submits a change order, being a change order it's not subject to bid so his order id beefed up for a huge profit and he does the job for thousands more then if the job had been engineered properly from day one.
This happens EVERYDAY in the private/government sector it's been going on for ever. I wouldn't be part of stealing because that's what it is. I know I was fired once for doing the right thing.
