Allowing witnesses is playing right into the two enemies of Trump. The Democrats and the Anti-Trumpers. Combined they can actually oust Trump
I doubt that is probable but Pelosi want more witnesses to further Damage Trump in the election and the Anti-Trumpers are right with her.

McConnell needs to tell them that they are going to lose all their committee assignments if the vote for witnesses and be challenged in the next primary.
Cruz thinks he is being clever but he isn't, with the tit for tat witnesses. The left wing media will be selective in coverage and only those that are politically active are going to watch the trial.

The coverage of this will in no way be fair and you cannot depend on FOX who Paul Ryan will no doubt want Chris Wallace to run the coverage.

I think Cruz is just trolling, at least I hope so. Cruz is more conservative than we have had in a while in Texas, probably one reason beto did so well against him. Whereas I would like to see the bidens investigated I agree with you it should not be at the hearings.

I, for one, think that Trump has about the best legal team anyone could put together. I think if it comes down to witnesses Trumps team will do a great job differing hearsay from the testimony. On the other hand Joe and Hunter are first hand fact witnesses and should be called to show justification of Trumps legal action! The whole house case is based on hearsay!

With Supreme Court justice Roberts anything could go wrong as he is a Lib.

Bingo! The democrats chose a bunch of partisan hacks as managers. Trump has put together a solid legal team th t will likely embarrass the House managers.

I agree. Let it play out.  It's not as if our opinions matter.  If the political class were really interested in our opinions, they'd allow our votes to decide, in November.  This way, instead of judging just the President, the nation will be judging our members of Congress.

Funny thing about justice Roberts is with the whole world watching he is going to be very carful in how he appears. I believe he will try to stay above it and act as the independent judge he should be. I can't believe that the chief justice of the supreme court will allow
Hear say testimony in a hearing he is overseeing. I could be wrong but in a case like this he has to worry how history will remember him.

All judges should be independent, but when the Dem's go judge shopping they are not looking for a independent judge.  I see Roberts on the Dark Side more then not.

I disagree with what seems to be the popular opinion. This whole charade has killed the political bump that Trump should be getting from USMCA and the China agreement. Get rid of it and enjoy Trump's victories and his economy.
We get nothing out of the trial because the average person is only going to see highlight on the MSM channels and pages and they will not show any points won by Trump but they will show everyone that goes against Trump. Then they are going to claim the Senate GOP is just made up of those Trump loving criminals anyways. We will gain nothing from the trial.

Judge Kavanaugh part two. It didn't work the first time and it won't work this time. Dershowitz is not just a great constitutional scholar he is also very articulate and will lay out a case that the impeachment articles are not constitutional. He will give most of the republicans enough confidence to vote for acquittal. Even Collins. I'm not sure about Romney and Murkowski. I don't trust them. Dershowitzs argument will probably give a few democrats cover to vote no.
