Why Is Hannity Under Attack And O'reilly Fired?
« on: May 30, 2017, 04:25:45 AM »
Deace gives what I would call the most plausible explanation. Great short read, and I believe he'sRight.

~SNIPPED~~~
We are now an industry in transition, trying to figure out how to monetize our product given these new realities. That’s why entities like The Blaze, Daily Wire, and CRTV (my employer) have sprouted up. To avoid dealing with pressure upon advertisers, or from your bosses too closely aligned with the GOP, to just sell their product directly to consumers. Both to monetize the content, but also free up the content provider to speak their mind without pressure. This model is as free market as it gets. If you want our content, you buy it. If you don’t, we go under and don’t survive.

As an aside, one thing to keep an eye on is recent news of Fox’s ratings and Breitbart’s site traffic in decline. Is this a sign people are tired of defending Trump at all costs, or just temporary hiccups. We’ll soon find out.

All of this is important for you to understand if you truly want to understand what is going down here. What’s going down here is not necessarily some new targeting of conservative media, but a continuation of what’s been happening for decades now. We just have some big names behaving in ways that helps the haters hit their marks.

O’Reilly gave up conservatism a long time ago, if he ever was really a conservative. He’s gone because the heat was on advertisers for his alleged improprieties with women, not because of his political opinions. And most media buyers for advertisers are women.

Hannity is not being targeted because he’s a conservative. He’s being targeted because he’s a conservative who embarrassed his company pursuing a phony conspiracy theory, over a grieving family’s public wishes, which forced his parent company to retract its own coverage.

Tucker Carlson right now is to the right of where O’Reilly was when he was let go, so why isn’t he being actively targeted? Because he’s not done anything stupid from a personal character standpoint to expose himself, that’s why.

The Left is always coming after us, that’s the game. We know they tolerate everything except that which they disagree with. But so far the only people they’ve successfully (and supposedly) taken out are people who have aided and abetted their own demise. So they certainly helped to take out themselves.

Just as Trump is being unfairly targeted by the liberal media, for sure, but also enables their targeting with his own behavior.

Fox News paid out millions of dollars for incidents relating to Ailes and O’Reilly for a reason. Doubtful that reason was just feeling charitable. Nobody made Hannity embarrass himself. In fact, many pleaded with him to stop but nonetheless he persisted.

My boss at CRTV, Mark Levin, might even be to the right of me on some things. And he’s certainly the most fiery broadcaster of any I’ve mentioned. Why haven’t they taken him out? Because he hasn’t showed his arse to give them a target.

The moral of the story: you can’t do anything about the environment, but you can do something about how you choose to behave within it.We are now an industry in transition, trying to figure out how to monetize our product given these new realities. I disagree with Deace, sounds like the leftist version of things and I'll get into that later. The advertisers pullout is just some excuse. You wanna pull out...go ahead, see what it does to your numbers you mooks...look at Kellogg's and you may want to re think the whole game plan.  It has come out recently that Fox slipped to number 3.....They are gonna slip even further if they fire Hannity. I long ago "cut the cable" so I no longer watch Fox, but what I am getting from those who do is that it has become a leftist soap box with the likes of Shep Smith and a few others.

Granted Bill O'Reilly wasn't a conservative, he was an old time Irish Democrat who back in the day were more conservative that most of the RINO's you have in modern day, however Bill was WELL LIKED. The books he produced (The Killing series) were very popular and I think I have most of them, top notch stuff.

Fox Blinked, they showed a lack of cojones over Bill when someone made some unproved claims, had they backed their man, came up with "Prove it or STFU" and stared down their advertisers I guarantee you their rating wouldn't be in the free fall they are now, CONSERVATIVES DESPISE LACK OF BACKBONE. If I still was a subscriber I would have let Fox know this is why I'm canceling out in a letter/email.

I strongly disagree with Deace's version that Hannity backed a conspiracy theory thereby showed his butt, there is strong evidence for what Hannity was promoting and he choked, for whatever reason, during the "high noon" moment. To suggest Seth Rich's death is a 'conspiracy theory" is something out of a leftist playbook, so that right there makes me write Deace off almost immediately. If Fox shit cans Hannit over this, and I think they will, I predict they'll be off the air within a year, Tucker Carlson isn't enough to save them.

So here is Billy's version for Mr Deace:

If you chickenshits let these advertisers push you around you are going to end up going off the air one way or another. These people give big time Money to Hillary, to Chuckie Schumer, the DNC. Allow them one such victory with O'Reilly and they'll control all the media propaganda industry,  that makes it not worth viewing to begin with. Grow a spine, stand up to these corporate leftists and tell them if they withdraw we will publish a detailed list of all your products down to the rubber bands and paper companies you contract with. The inference is millions of conservative viewers will NOT be buying your products, will not be buying your stock and lets see what impact that has on your next quarterly report.

We can always pickup new advertising markets, so screw you, go fight with CNN over a dwindling viewership for ad space to peddle your products.

Grow a spine Mr Deace dont let some leftist advertiser "control your behavior" or your opinion.

I agree, with a caveat. It's not just advertisers, it's FOX purging the network of the Establishment and the left smells blood in the water and is taking advantage of the situation.
Deace should have said, it's not so much that these RINO made mistakes, rather, their mistake was being RINO in the first place.
The Conservative base has basically abandoned not only FOX, but the whole Establishment Shitload of fake conservatives, hence the numbers in lost ad revenue, listenership, and you can bet Rush is suffering as well.

If Obozo did anything for the country, he exposed the real enemy within, the Fake GOP party and how they've been playing us, the base, for decades.
I say screw the likes of Hannity, O'reily and the rest of the Establishment talking whores. Let them go the way of the Dim party.
