The National Archives has released an excellent group of photographs showing the exact moment George W. Bush learned of the 9/11 attacks, and what our media DIDN'T cover about the immediate aftermath.

Obviously, I never will.
Why would a lib site want to chase away readership, aren't things bad enough for them already, without running off their ad base?

It's public documents released by the National Archives --- NOT some leftist screed, to which I would never refer a reader.

When I get those popups - it's automatic, I assume the article is >clickbait< and navigate away or close their window.
I don't have the internet bandwidth for 90% ads & 10% content.

Wall Street Urinal has it and I instantly close all their BS as well as a dozen other sites as well, and yes, it allows them to flood you with popup crap, eating bandwidth.

Hmm... It did not ask me to remove my blocker. It showed me all the photos and I did not see one add. My system is set up to block all adds. Some times I will see a box that will say add but there nothing there, just the word add.
If it were to ask me to close my blocker I would just close the site.

I apologize for the typo stating 98/11 and not 9/11, above.
I too have a rigid ad-blocker in play and had no trouble seeing these high-quality, large photographs. Without question, these shots are history in the making.
What was, "
The moment Bush learned of 98/11 attacks"?
Walks, wanna fix that? Thanks.

I just did, but I had to change each post as changing the first one did not change the others.

What happened to my avatar image and sidebar information? What happened to the site masthead image (now in its 3rd day of MIA status)? Solar? Taxed? Anyone wanna answer?

Hmm... I see your new avatar image and sidebar information.

At the individual post level, yes, you're right. But opening the site for the first time shows no welcome message or other data (including any hint of messages received, etc.). I've checked with multiple browsers. It is not at my end. If not for the titles of posts within threads, it looks as if it's a virgin message board straight out of the wrapper.
This is separate from the missing masthead, which happened the day before and continues.
Are others here having trouble seeing the site header image, and/or the welcome message and information area showing their avatar image and other data, immediately after sign-in?

Yeah, Taxed has an issue with the photobucket account carrying it.

Fotki.com has a huge new notice for disaffected Photobucket users. Simply visit this link, and read for yourself. I have had
excellent service now for more than seven years and recommend them to anyone.

I don't have the internet bandwidth for 90% ads & 10% content.
I've encountered sites whose bandwidth is more like 99.999% ads and .001% content.
And they install malware on my computer!
And then there's Forbes.com, that just crashes the browser
without showing ANY content!
If a page loads too slowly, I close the tab, and NEVER return to that site!
How badly run do these companies have to be to run their websites so badly?
Do they have one guy selling ads and another guy responsible for generating traffic?
"Hey! You sold $100,000 worth of ad space to Malware Inc.! Here's a bonus!"
"Hey! Our traffic has dropped to zero! (because of the malware) You're fired!"
