QuoteColin Kaepernick is being recognized by Harvard University for his work around social equality.
Harvard announced Thursday that Kaepernick will receive a W.E.B. Du Bois medal, which is the university's highest honor in African and African-American studies.
"All of the Du Bois medalists have made significant contributions to African and African-American history and culture, and more broadly, are individuals who advocate for intercultural understanding and human rights in an increasingly global and interconnected world," according to Harvard's press release.
Kaepernick joins seven other recipients who will honored in an October ceremony — including comedian, actor, and producer Dave Chappelle. The painter of Barack Obama's official portrait, Kehinde Wiley, also will be honored.
The former 49ers quarterback joins the likes of Muhammad Ali and Maya Angelou, who were past award winners.
The definition of "highest honor" has low standards.
The Harvard 'leadership' has sunk to a new low.
There has to be someone who has done more for African Americans then Colin Kaepernick has. This garbage in the media that African Americans somehow have it bad here in America may be true, but last time I checked there have been tremendous strides taken to advance African Americans here in America while minorities in other countries face actual oppression. Same with the Gay rights activists. They throw them off buildings in the middle east and somehow America is the worst place for Gay people to live? Smh

Liberals love to give meaningless awards to those on their side that have done nothing. They celebrate these achievements as extraordinary but aren't even podium finishes.

Huh? Where?
I say good for him because he obviously won't be winning any awards in the NFL....
