The process of having oppossing presidents and house is a common tradition, but what does this mean for the future? Have the right gone complacent? Will the leftists backlash swallow up the country? Or will the heavy push and shoves continue to escalate? Discuss.

If history is a correct lesson the democrats should win back the house as the average change for a sitting president is 30 seats. That being said, much will not change since the democrats will not have a majority in the senate. It would be total legislative gridlock, but not for judges as only the senate confirms judges. However, the democrats will have endless investigations into Trump which result in a landslide for Trump in 2020.

When Obamao was faced with a House and Senate of Republicans he hauled out his pen and his phone. I imagine Trump will do the same if necessary. Plus he will get re elected.

If Trump loses control of the house for investigations, prosecutions, etc.... he'd better ram them all through between November and January, in a way that makes it suicide for the dems to actually do real obstruction. If not, he's clearly abdicated all claims to pursuing justice and transparency. You know the damned dems will re-hide everything if they have congress. Schiff will be heading up everything.

Either that or use the DOJ alone to do all of this. Just not sure that enough of it has been fumigated, for this to be done.

If the win they will bog down the administration with investigations. They will also ensure a Trump win in 2020.

Don't depend on Ryan to push through Trump desires in the lame duck session. He doesn't want them either.

I agree with you now, two years ago I was predicting a blood bath in both chambers. Glad to say I was wrong about Trump.

Nailed it, where I do think the lefts suicide was inevitable, Trump sped it up by exposure. My biggest surprise was how the rino's went for retirement, and the republicans jumped on board. Lindsey Graham is one pretty good example, I never expected him to stand up for conservatives and I thank Trump for the change in him. My personal opinion of the republicans has gone up, at least for the ones who are running for reelection, guess Trump has shown them the way. ( of course my opinion of republicans was pretty low

) When I look back to two years ago I never would have believed how well everything has turned out.

Good point about Graham. It is almost like he is out from under McCain's thumb.
