How often can a conservative honestly agree with a liberal loudmouth?

Take Ohio's Sherrod Brown....

QuoteSherrod Brown, D-Ohio, released a statement Monday calling on consumers to boycott the home of the Whopper after Burger King announced late Sunday that it was in talks to buy Tim Hortons, creating the world's third-largest fast-food company in the process.

Burger King confirmed the deal on Tuesday; as part of the plan, Burger King would relocate its headquarters to Canada, a move that could lower its corporate taxes.

"Burger King's decision to abandon the United States means consumers should turn to Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers or White Castle sliders," Brown said. "Burger King has always said 'Have it Your Way'; well my way is to support two Ohio companies that haven't abandoned their country or customers." Wendy's is based in Dublin, Ohio, while White Castle is headquartered in Columbus.

If you like the idea of TimBits with your Rainbow Burger, then fine. If not, your options are here.....

What I like about BBQing a hamburger at home.  I always know I can have it my way.

I'm confused. Are you saying you support a boycott because of their move to Canada? Or are you saying you support one because of the rainbow burger?

Seems so. I SUPPORT their move. They didn't abandon the American People, they abandoned an out of control Government. I applaud that!

Burger King management has only one job -- maximize profits in order to increase revenues to the stockholders. They would be stupid to do other than what they're doing. Our president thinks they should do stupid things.

I hope I've made things clear.

If it pisses off Liberals then I'm going to break my fast food 'fast' and go to Burger king and buy a lot of stuff from now on.

Remember when these morons were telling people to boycott Chik Fil A and people reacted by lining up at their local outlets? Calling for boycotts usually drums up more business.

Exactly. That's why I can't understand why a conservative wouldn't support the move. If people don't want businesses leaving, cut spending, lower taxes, and keep them here. Don't boycott them for standing up for conservative principles.

Not maximizing profits and shareholders' investments would be tortious as well as stupid. BK manglement has a fiduciary duty to shareholders, and to let government plunder BK unhindered would be a violation of that fiduciary duty.

I support it because of three reasons.

A: I"m from Ohio, grew up eating White Castles and Wendy's from a tike just barely able to eat real food on up.

B: I like the taste of the White Castles burgers better than any other burger joint out there. And, not only that, but because I'm from Ohio and grew up eating White Castles, they are sort of like a "comfort food" if you will.

Yep, I admit it. When I moved out west, where I couldn't get White Castles, that was the one food I truly missed. And could not wait to go back home, just to be able to get some.

C: I like Wendy's chili.

Which is what most call a "Cincinnati" chili and is something sort of "unique" to this area of the nation. For someone from Ohio, especially a Cinci native I"d have to say that too is another kind of "comfort food".

Both Wendy's chili, and White Castles, are for many Cinci natives.

Sort of like what a Cheesesteak sandwhich is to someone born and raised in Philly.

And no you won't find my "story" there. They don't allow science fiction. :)

Prefering the other two burger joints as a matter of taste isn't the same as supporting a boycott because you don't agree with their "political"/economic decision.

I've lost my taste for all that greasy/gooey crap, otherwise I'd actively support BK for giving the finger to this oppressive government.

Libs always think failure to pay the Godvernment whatever they desire is an attack on the American People. I'm actually sick of that liberal/Warren/Obama attitude.

Now you've done it. You've incited the chili debate!

How can you say Wendy's chili is even remotely akin to Cincy chili? They're not even from the same planet! (Or from the same food groups.)

Cincinnati chili, a la Skyline and Gold Star to name only two, is unique. The blend of spices, especially including cinnamon and cloves, in the sauce, and the tradition of serving the goop over spaghetti noodles, completely defies comparison with common chilis like the stuff served at Wendy's. Only with Cincinnati chili can you fill your gut with protein and carbs and veggies and satisfy your sweet tooth with just one dish.

Wendy's chili reminds me of the stuff my mom used to call 'chili soup.' It was usually leftover crappy spaghetti sauce (Mom wasn't very good with such things) mixed with a can of kidney beans. Can we all say, "Yum, yum!"

Actually, I can whip up a chili that will lead you to swear off eating for at least three or four days, because you won't need to eat -- all your basic nutrition needs will have been met. Two of my favorite "secret" ingredients are meat and meat. Venison is good; veal is good; pork is good; lamb is good; buffalo is good. It's all good!

As you pointed out, somebody else's chili generally sucks, but what I tried to convey earlier is that Wendy's chili and the traditional Skyline/Gold Star variety of Cincinnati chili suck in radically different ways. Eating Wendy's chili is close to eating Mom's chili -- you're full when you're done, but you didn't have any fun along the way. Eating Cincy chili is a hoot, but you're left wondering if it'll rot your teeth -- and it probably will.

The Ohio folks on the board know exactly what I'm talking about. Let's hear it, y'all! Who's a fan of Cincy chili?
