NSA scandal shakes Americans’ trust in government
« on: August 01, 2013, 08:25:31 AM »
On Wednesday, the Obama administration released several newly declassified intelligence documents in a damage control attempt over the growing NSA snooping scandal. On the same day, the Guardian reported on the NSA tool XKeyscore, which can track everything people do online, including emails, Facebook activity, online chats and browser histories. The White House just can’t keep ahead of the bad news.
The administration maintains that these programs are necessary for the fight against terrorism, but the American people are not convinced. A new survey released by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press finds that 56% of Americans believe that “federal courts fail to provide adequate limits on the telephone and internet data the government is collecting as part of its anti-terrorism efforts.” And for the first time in the 10 year history of this poll, more people (47%) say the government has gone too far in restricting civil liberties than those who say it has not gone far enough to protect the country (35%).

Newbies citing abbreviated links is not exactly encouraging me to click through and read more. I don't mind 8 lines of code (if necessary) to be sure I'm not clicking onto a script that seizes my computer, thanks.

Q thanks for the heads up.

That said, Americans have long not trusted the Federal Government...so how much more "shaken" can their trust really be by this?

Sadly the truth is, these NSA and IRS and DOJ scandals do not surprise quite a few Americans in the least.

As it's precisely what they warned the election of this bunch would result in.
One of every five Americans you meet has a mental illness of some sort. Many, many, of our veteran's suffer from mental illness like PTSD now also. Help if ya can. :) http://www.projectsemicolon.org/share-your-story.html
And no you won't find my "story" there. They don't allow science fiction. :)

Sorry for being new. I do not know the protocol in this forum. On other boards I've joined, they preferred shortened links to help keep the walls from getting to long to scroll thought. Thanks for the tip.

It's all shaping up nicely, just need to stay diligent to the last minute.

MSM, Marxists, leftists, progs, all can become the cornered weasel and have absolutely no standards of behavior, honesty, decency.

They go into that mode, we stay in country club mode.......we can definitely snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Throw in a few hundred million here, a few there, from Soros & pals....dems can still win with 60% of America against everything their doing.  We've seen it enough times.
