Newsweek has been on its deathbed in recent months, first shutting down its print magazine and eventually showing signs of barely clinging to life via its online publication. In part, it's due to the overwhelming anti-Trump, anti-American rhetoric that the people of the United States of America aren't interested in hearing.

The war between Americans and Newsweek isn't new either, Trump and Newsweek have gone back and forth for the better part of a decade due to their biased propaganda efforts.

As it turns out, and you'll later read in the article, Newsweek has been given numerous taxpayer-funded contracts which were arranged by the Obama Administration as well as the Democratic Party.

The Goldwater has consistently pointed out that two decades ago the publication was considered as "credible news", which is a far cry from their current state as a literal mouthpiece for the Democratic Party as well as being under investigation for criminal wrongdoing.

Just took a look at Time Magazine-looks really flimsy like a free handout at a parking lot! The sad end is coming-just like Newsweek!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 2, 2013

For those unaware, Newsweek is facing legal trouble for potential financial crimes which has sent shockwaves through the media due to Newsweek's sheer power and size.

The crimes are so serious that in January the Manhattan District Attorney's Office raided Newsweek Media Group's headquarters in New York and witnesses say investigators removed at least 18 computer servers from Newsweek's offices.

Why is a "news" company being investigated by federal law enforcement for money laundering?

It's alleged that the failed publication has been under investigation involving white-collar financial crimes for nearly 17 months now, although little has been released as per the details of what exact crimes Newsweek has committed.

Sounds like they are so desperate that they are willing to commit crimes so they have something new to write about.

Who better to get the scoop, than the perps themselves?
I see this as the bell weather for all leftist rags in the country, they either wake up and tell the truth, or face obscurity like all the other lying rags that have gone belly up.

OT) Just recently I started receiving Forbes in the mail, I didn't order it, and if I had ordered a zine, it would have been something on science.
The same thing happened with Motherjones a couple of decades back, hated that shit, but it too just started showing up.
Anyone else ever have this happen?

Hmm...Someone may not like you.  Will it make a good fire starter?

The worst fire starter ever, it's those painted pages, they light, burn, but leave enough ash to choke out the fire.
Could be someone got one of those "Two for one", order a subscription for yourself, and give one to a friend.
Which is odd, because I have no friends, only enemies. j/k

Newsweek appears to be in much deeper trouble than previously thought in a wide-ranging fraud probe by the Manhattan District Attorney's office, according to the Wall Street Journal.

A suspicious loan application from Newsweek's parent company two years ago helped trigger the probe into suspected bank fraud, advertising fraud, and ties between parent company Newsweek Media Group and a California bible college.

The publication's New York offices were raided on January 18 in connection with the probe, while dozens of employees and three top executives have left the publication amid its rapid unraveling. Editors, meanwhile, went nuclear on a Newsweek executive in a leaked call earlier this month.

During the 90 minute recorded meeting between CCO Jonathan Davis and editors, Davis was repeatedly asked about alleged criminal behavior by parent company Newsweek Media Group.

"So you should be honest with everybody in this room: Are we running a money laundering operation? Are we evading taxes? You need to tell us that because we can't work here if you're a liar." -Daily Beast

As the conference call went on, editors became increasingly angry at Davis' repeated attempts to deflect serious questions. One editor said that the staff had "barely learned anything," aside from Davis being "not credible."

Earlier this month we reported that the magazine had fired editor-in-chief Bob Roe, executive editor Ken Li, and journalist Celeste Katz - who had written several articles covering the active investigation into parent company Newsweek Media Group. Davis blames Katz's reporting for doing "real damage" to Newsweek's business relationships, and that it "ruined a business deal abroad."

A search of Olivet's publicly available tax records shows that in 2014, IBT Media Inc., later renamed Newsweek Media Group, paid the school $1.63 million for a R&D agreement. The company is listed as a "former trustee." In 2013, Olivet's tax filing listed another similar payment from the media organization to the school: $1.26 million for a licensing agreement.

Agents seized 18 computer servers as part of a criminal probe into the company's finances, which sources said had been underway for at least 17 months at the time authorities executed a search warrant. -Celeste Katz, Newsweek

Yes, we're sure the January raid by the Manhattan D.A. itself wasn't a factor in that "business deal abroad."

Ad fraud

A scheme by the publisher of Newsweek and the International Business Times to buy fraudulent traffic in order to help secure a major ad contract from a US government agency came to light following a report released by independent ad fraud researchers.

Of note, IBT Media Inc. was later renamed Newsweek Media Group.

Yes, for several years but it wasn't a political publication.  It was some annoying Catholic magazine.  Hubby and I are Protestant.  Every month I take it out of the mailbox and put it into the trashcan next to the mailbox (we don't have a fireplace, so no tinder required in this house).  Just before Christmas  a 3 x 5 card fell out of it and landed on the floor as I was tossing the magazine into the trash.  I picked up the card and saw that it was an announcement saying that our subscription had been renewed once again as a Christmas gift...from hubby's sister, who is Catholic.    When I showed it to Hubby he just sighed.  He walked away from the Catholic Church 40 years ago but I guess his sister still hopes that he will give up his "heathen" Protestant ways.  Unbelievable.
