"I want to go to D.C. to restore America to what she once was."
Now that would be nice.

(Reuters) - The nephew of "Duck Dynasty" reality TV personality Phil Robertson said on Monday he would run for the U.S. House of Representatives in northeastern Louisiana as a conservative Republican.

The entry of 36-year-old political newcomer Zach Dasher into the race for the seat of Representative Vance McAllister, who was rocked by a sex scandal earlier this year, will test the Robertson clan's clout in Louisiana's largely rural 5th District.

"My basic platform begins with God," Dasher said in a phone interview. "I want to go to D.C. to restore America to what she once was."

It's one off the reasons I don't trust the religious right. Just because you invoke God into your campaign, doesn't make you a Conservative.

Precisely.  We all love God and America, but right now in 2014 the TEA Party is into seriously solving the dilemmas Dems have created and we're not in the mood to be pandered-to with armchair-pageantry.  If Dasher has solid Conservative ideas and the conviction to work them into viability, fine.  I'll support him.

If not, 'being vetted for 36-years' by some famous family-member, isn't making sense to me.  This isn't Senator Claghorn's plantation out here anymore.

Exactly! The way I see it, is we need to reign in this out of control govt via TEA, once that's accomplished, those of faith are welcome to do what they want, but forcing religious values on the Nation will change nothing, but give the left a way to demonize the right.

Don't get me wrong, I believe in what the "moderate" religious right wants to accomplish, but first things first.
