I had a few boss's like that over my years of work. They did not last long in the real world.

There is this thing called a floor manager. If he was a half competent host he would have pulled out his earpiece and worked with the floor manager.
I did a play in town and the director, a huge lib kept screaming "I don't want a Fuckin Taco" during a rehearsal, we all thought she was off her meds, and maybe she was, but her headset was picking up the Taco Bell drive through and she was demanding someone go over there and make them switch channels.
I don't remember whatever came of it, but like a ship and a lighthouse, she needed to find a work around.
Libs are like picky preteen girls, everything needs to be perfect, or their life is ruined.
