Like before big government people always jumped in and helped.
Who said only the government can do it?

Supporters of Meals on Wheels showered the nonprofit organization in online donations — over $100,000 over a two-day period — in response to the White House's budget proposal to defund dozens of social programs, the nonprofit organization said Saturday.

Heaven forbid, just like the days before govt interfered, people actually felt an obligation to help those unable to help themselves.

 Exactly!!!
And making it work better. In my area Meals on wheels is purely volunteer, the money the govt gives them is a pittance to what's really needed, almost an insult in that it gives people the false belief that it's a successful govt program.
Maybe now with a shitload of exposure, people will wake up and realize how much govt involvement has hurt it.

QuoteAs Matt Welch writes, we have gotten so used to increased government spending on everything that any cut to any program is automatically cast in apocalyptic terms.
More like our propaganda mill MSM treats ANYTHING which does not yield a net growth government authority over our every day lives as one step from the end civilization. Meals on Wheels is just a minor bump. Look at how they act every time the budget of Planned Infant Murder is threatened.
Oh my god! The free market rears it's ugly head. Run for the hills!

And they were running for the hills after the government started stealing their money.
This is a state program. Why are the states prioritizing other things like taking care of illegals over Meals on Wheels?
