I don't have a TV, so I don't really know that face as a friend of foe - But... If I met him on the street, wearing a trench coat, with that scruffy look - I'd immediately mistake him for a Homeless guy, or a flasher.
I doubt there is something sinister going on with the Libs, Dems, etc., to clear the way for the next POTUS election.
IMO... this is what happens when you start hurling accusations right and left, at every political opponent, and now they got a situation, women feeling embolden enough to speak out. All those guys who thought they were in-the-clear are being taken down, even men they didn't intend to destroy. I'll bet there are many women (and men) who are looking for the accuser, wanting to dig dirt on her/them, and get "even" for taking down Lauer. People do crazy things when you go after their idols.
Also reminds me of that classic Hollywood actor's line, when the cops pull them over, "Don't you know who I am!?!??" somehow fame and their fan base is going to throw such a stink, they'll walk away free, somehow, feeling "justified".

Where's the black eye Lauer got from these women, the scratched face, the lump on the head from a blunt object? Didn't the dude ever get slapped into-the-next-county by one of these girls? That slapping business isn't just for movies, you get slapped just once, it's like hitting Mother Nature's RESET. Saw a friend laying on the lawn, figured he drank too much & passed out - nope, the girl slapped him so hard, he was out COLD. Side of his face probably had her fingers & palm print on it... and she was a tiny little thing!
Then I heard some woman say, "I was defenseless against him.." - maybe I'm wrong, but if some guy is buck naked, and you're wearing those pointed high heels... how can you possibly miss? He'll be so doubled up in pain on the floor, throwing up, you'd have time to fix you hair, do your nails and kick him until he says "You're my momma!!" I just have a *little* doubt about this "defenseless woman" stuff, not implying anything else, just that if a woman is conscious... well, I've seen those big guys get slapped-into-the-next-county, and it stopped 'em cold, every time.
To me, Matt Lauer, Garrison Keller, Al Franken, etc., are nobody I ever cared to know, now or 10 years ago, pervert or not.

Once they have dirt on you, it's a sort of sexual blackmail - you will deliver, or it's curtains for your career. I'm really GLAD for growing up in a business, and my father explaining that to me - a wise warning. This is really difficult for the heir-apparent child, the opposite sex - power thirsty & gold digger types just crawl out of the woodwork, and will do *anything* to:
a. Win you over, to take what you've worked for.
b. Entrap you, sexually, financially, legally, their imagination seems endless.
c. Attempt to blackmail.
d. Lie and spread rumors to get your attention, the you-better-stop-me-or-else.
e. Sabotage your plans, operation, betray, etc., if all else fails.
f. Hang around like a cold-sore for a l-o-n-g time after termination, trying to "get even" for some imaginary offense.
And, there are plenty of parents who taught their children, that's the way to get ahead. :thumbdown:
One of Matt Lauer's complaints was from a Married Woman, who decided 'not to speak up, because it might cost her the job'.

Mine must be descendants of Annie Oakley. Over Thanksgiving, I watched 2 of them embarrass an ex-military guy
with his own gun, he was sitting, they were offhand (standing), and shot groups 1/3rd his size, in less time to boot! He "mistook" one of her targets for his... for just a moment. :rolleyes:

I think you are on to one of the main points in this. It was part of the liberal culture. Hollywood and politics are both dirty businesses whose main byproduct is a good con job. I never understood all the awards hollywood gives itself, for what, saving mankind?? It is just a dog and pony show that got out of hand. But it did and does attract those who knew HOW THE GAME WAS PLAYED. But once the game is accepted, it got out of hand and even those who did not want to play the game, had to. As long as the liberals had power, people like harvey and bill would get away with anything. A liberals first line of defense is to trash the accuser. Hillary ran this to perfection while in the white house. I believe this is one of the main reasons women did not come forward, they knew they would be trashed. Now liberals have no power, nobody to trash them. There is one other random idea, are liberal women growing up just a little? Are they starting to realize what conservatives have known all along and that is liberal men are full of it? That EVERYTHING women have been taught to hate about men is found in liberal men. I know its too late for the diehard old liberals but maybe there is hope for those who are hitting mid life and finding out they were lied to.

Personal responsibility is treated as a JOKE. How many times have we heard, "I take personal responsibility for ...." - as if that clears the deck, and the individual stays on the job, without exacting financial or disciplinary follow up. I get what she's saying, that letting people off the hook for bad behavior has a rippling effect on the youth.
Case in point, Clinton's claim that oral sex, isn't sex, had a negative effect on the youth of the day, they saw it as an excuse for indiscretions..
