Yes. Idaho actually has a sign at the state line that says "Welcome to Idaho, we have plenty of toilet paper"
It should read: "Welcome to Idaho, we're the opposite of California"

Here is some more insanity from the state of CA. It is a good way to run insurers out of a state.

I worked in the insurance industry for forty-five years and have pretty good idea about pricing of the product. Personal auto is a very competitive business and computers have allowed insurers to become quite sophisticated in the pricing arena. What this issue is all about is that certain zip codes have worse loss experience than other zip codes. Consequently, pricing reflects that loss experience. There is nothing about discrimination to the inhabitants of those zip codes. It is as Sgt Friday said, "Just the facts Mam!".

This has been going on since they wrote the law stating everyone must but insurance. I remember buying insurance when I moved out of the Capitol and discovered my rates fell, I inquired as to why, and he said the area I used to live in was a high crime area, that if I wanted even cheaper rates, move to the mountains.
I did, but not for the insurance.

I just assumed this was standard practice all across the country?

It has been used for years throughout the US. However, leftists in lib states have always fought zip code pricing. They can't argue the facts so they play the race card.

It's been a standard practice for a long time.
It's called "redlining."

There was an episode of All In The Family about this.

Archie Bunker had to pay a higher price for his insurance
because he was in a "high risk" neighborhood,
but the black guy across the street got a lower rate,
because he was in a "low risk" neighborhood.

Hell, do we ever have the freaks. They are locked up in Travis county, home of our capitol, where the motto is " Keep Austin weird" and they have accomplished that in droves. Freaks are the norm there now, they put up memorials to freaks, freaks are on the city council, freaks run the government programs.............it goes on and on.  Yet the main reason people are moving away, TAXES are too high.

Yep, that's what happened to Ca. Business left in droves over taxes.
Oh, and about Nevada?
