This is a post of frustration.

I've spent most of my life within relatively easy driving distance of Jackson, and my entire adult life I've heard of that rivalry between Jackson and those Wisconsin poseurs out of Ripon. So yesterday I was in that town, and took these photos at the site long claimed to be the birthplace of the Republican Party.

I am truly pissed at the Republican clowns in that city. I say that as someone to the right of them. Someone who has studied how arduous the process is to just get this type of marker to begin with...and then see how THESE goons have let it all go straight to hell.

Yes, they're tough to read. The Jackson County GOP should be ashamed at the poor job they've done here in preserving the very claim to fame they mention on city limits signs.

Text for the bottom image reads: "Here under the Oaks, July 6, 1854, was born the Republican Party - destined in the throes of civil strife to abolish slavery, vindicate democracy and perpetuate the union."

For background....

The birthplace pales in comparison to where it will die.

Pols believe Americans are too stupid for multiple parties. The GOP will survive. It just won't be very Republican.
