Title: It's Karma, Lindsey Vonn
Post by: Hoofer on December 10, 2017, 07:16:34 AM
When will Liberals and Never Trumpers come around and just "get over it"...?

http://www.foxnews.com/sports/2017/12/10/lindsey-vonn-suffers-back-injury-in-world-cup-race-after-trump-comments.html
QuoteAmerican skiing star Lindsey Vonn has withdrawn from her Sunday events at the World Cup in Switzerland after suffering a back injury during a super-G race on Saturday.

The injury occurred two days after she criticized President Donald Trump in an interview about the upcoming Winter Olympics in South Korea.

Karma, Lindsey... it's just Karma.   You had the entire nation pulling for you, despite all the injuries in the past, being Tiger Wood's squeeze, and generally speaking a sports star - why... just why, did you have to political - like NFL on us, and insult half the fan base?

QuoteVonn's tentative run after jarring her back early on placed her 24th, trailing 1.56 seconds behind the surprise winner, Jasmine Flury of Switzerland.

Ouch!

QuoteThe two-time Olympic medalist told CNN in an interview that aired Thursday that she would "absolutely not" visit the White House if the United States Olympic team gets a traditional post-games invitation.

"I was asked my opinion and I gave it," Vonn told reporters Friday. "I mean, it's not necessarily my place to be sticking my nose in politics, but as an athlete I do have a voice."

Then learn how to shut up and offer no opinion.   Former fans are calling for BOYCOTTS of your sponsors.  You've alienated more people than gained support.  We can expect sponsors to start writing into contracts - "No political opinion shall be given!"

Quote"People like Billie Jean King and Arthur Ashe and Colin Kaepernick," Vonn said in the post-race interview zone. "There's definitely been a lot of people that have made their voice heard and made a positive impact."

Ask the NFL owners how Kaepernick's kneeling has helped ticket sales.   This is further proof, they live in their own little world, isolated from reality.  It just amazes me, a athlete will train for years, working on perfecting muscle control of every part of their body - except their tongue.  So now we can surmise, when Kaepernick's squeeze dumps him - there's Vonn, what a charming couple they'd make.

White & Blonde girl, wearing White, on White snow... so much "Whiteness"   Wait, she Skis skied for a living...?   And Kaepernik plays played football for a living, so if these athletes spend a little less time criticizing Trump and more time focusing on their sport (keeping their yappers shut), maybe they might have a career AFTER their sport career runs out.

Vonn, learn a lesson from your hero, the unemployed Colin Kaepernick, stop digging yourself in deeper.

I don't get it. We see athletics, movie stars and business owners willing to piss off half the voters and for what?
Do they really believe that their opinions regarding Trump will mean squat to his supporters.

I was going to say "just shut up and ski" but apparently she doesn't do that very well.

Has anyone noticed how lately Karma seems to be coming around more quickly and more directly?
I have an OT Karma story, one that happened years ago.
I worked evenings with a woman, who told me that after our shifts she would go to a bar and get drunk, then drive for one hour to her home.
Back in those years, driving drunk didn't seem to be the concern it is today, but it really concerned me and I told her this.
She apparently didn't seem to care about the danger she was putting other drivers in. This went on for years.
Then, one day her daughter, who had just entered college, was hit and killed by a drunk driver.
I learned then that Karma doesn't always hit you directly, but can come at you through a loved one.

The "Happy Drunk" from Andy Griffith stopped walking and started driving.

Humility sort of went-out-of-style a couple of decades ago, replaced by the in-your-face-mentality.   It's hard to contain a smile, let along laughter, when some habitual braggart gets their due.  Even more funny when before they've managed to win or do anything notable, they fail miserably... looking completely foolish.

I hope Lindsey Vonn fully recovers, but... I hope someone with a little bit of American Pride, beats her & knocks her out of the competition early on, quieting her "voice".
