About damn time!!

The raids hit seven food processing plants in six cities. They're believed to be the biggest single-state, one-day ICE operation in U.S. history.

Hurst also chastised businesses for using undocumented immigrants.

"To those who use illegal aliens for competitive advantage or to make a quick buck, we have something to say to you: If we find that you have violated federal criminal law, we're coming after you," he said.

There are many chicken processing operations in MS. The same for SC and they attract illegals.

Taxpayers get the bill for the services for both the illegals and the unemployed Americans who also collect unemployment. Then the stoclk market guys and US Chamber of Commerce tell us that we get cheaper chicken. BFD

I ran a company in central NC in the mid 90s. There were Mexican drug gangs shooting at each other across the highways. We had illegals coming in for work all the time and then when I found out that many of them actually had worked for the US forestry service under Clinton. I admit it was very tempting because I lost co many employees after establishing a drug test.  I thought it was going to be a nice rural living area. HA!

So. Are the Feds going to punish their employers.

Hell no. The more illegals they find the lower the fine per person. They are telling you to max them out. Then they settle for 10 cents on the dollar on average. That means $500 per employee max and you make that up in 2 weeks. It is all fraud on the public.

If these companies didn't break the law the undocumented immigrants would not be there.  Why does our legal system not go after them?  A human being trying to feed their family and make a living is the target but the dishonest corporations are left alone. Go figure.

In case anybody wonders why democrats are for open Borders? Here it is:

This Georgia GOP guy told the truth and, of course, the democrats are outraged. They don't want the folks to know they plan to import voters.

Just a little humor for a Monday morning.

The government is not serious. All the fines they tout are usually settled for 10% of the fine and even after the fine it was worth it. Meanwhile those of us that do not use them are under-priced and cannot hire or lose the work.

A undocumented full time worker will cost you about about $24,000 dollars less a year when you do not declare them and you normally pay a average benefit package with all the basic taxes, matching payroll taxes, workman's comp, unemployment insurances and other contributions.
First offenders can be fined $250-$2,000 per illegal employee. For a second offense, the fine is $2,000-$5,000 per illegal employee.  Then they will settle for 10%.
Sorry (but other than morals), why wouldn't you do this at least until you are caught a second time? The chances of being raided are small and the chance of being raided twice in a few years is even smaller.

Then law abiding employers face sending our employees home after we lose the jobs because we were undercut on prices.

Summary: The fines are a joke. They were written to pretend they were being tough. If we could charge Congress with lying to the people like they can charge the people for lying to Congress, then we would be able to rent the empty Capitol Building out as a hotel or a shopping mall.

Face it a fine is to generate money not put people out of business.  It's like a speeding ticket, the City, State and insurance companies make money off of it.

Good news. Here is an example of just enforcing existing laws and the positive consequences of doing so. If ICE keeps this up there will be much self deportation. Couple this with new asylum guidelines will truly help us get control of our borders.
