The suggestions required to help enlighten you to the conservative side of the street take longer than those that the liberal progressive agenda would require.  You can't "feel" your way to the conservative point of view, you would have to live it for at least 1/2 to one year.  You would have to have a job you rely upon for your sustenance.  You would have to have responsibilities for which you must account. 

Freedom demands that one be free not only to succeed, but also to fail.  In failure most of the greatest accomplishments and discoveries have been made.  Altruism is fine and dandy, but it's not a motivator.  The one idea liberal progressives just can't seem to understand is that there is No. Such. Place. As. Utopia.  There is no perfect society, and that is not even a reasonable goal.  Nor is a "fair" society.  The only goal worth striving for is a FREE society, free to make one's own decisions, make one's own way, fill or share one's own pocketbook based on their own abilities or charity of heart.

To say the "rich" need to pay their fair share, you have to understand they ALREADY do ... and to expect anything more is to doom the middle and lower classes to be punished, because the truly rich?  Well they're just going to raise their prices, raise the ticket cost, pass on the "tax" to whomever else they can get to pay.

The only real suggestion I could make would be to dedicate one year to the experiment.  Take your weekly salary and whatever percentage you think should go to all the entitlement programs (freebies - free college, free healthcare, free retirement, free insurance, free support for the arts, etc.), take that percentage out and give it to your "friend" do distribute as he sees fit.  THAT is what government will do ... it does the will of government, not the will of the people.  You should truly do some research on the Ponzi scheme that is "social security," the lie that is the "general welfare" clause in the Constitution and the penumbra of the "right to privacy" in the Bill of Rights.  Realize once these legislative "decisions" are made, like ALL the decisions made before you were even born, will more than likely NEVER be revisited, corrected, moderated, or fixed.

Don't take Bernie's word at face value, or your friend's, or the media, mine, or anyone else's ... do your OWN research, question those ideas which sound too good to be true (because they usually are, 9 times out of 10), and please understand one thing TANSTAAFL - There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.

Yes it is for young adults, but the ideas within hold great merit, and definitely worth the read.  "Whatever Happened To Penny Candy" is an excellent book on economics, and "Are You Liberal? Conservative? or Confused?" is a really good book to explore the ideas of the party system.

Bernie and Trump have so much in common I dont see why either of you "lost".....they are boht AUTHORITARIAN's.....Bernie doesn't "love" the American people or anyone else....Bernie Loves a political ideology. He will use authoritarianism just like every other "socialist" leader in the world to install his version of socialist totalitarianism....ie COMMUNISIM.   Trump doesn;t love the American people or anyone else, he is in Love with his own success which he acheived by being a tyrant and using every dirty trick in the book, the book in this case is "the art of the Deal".

If you are really concerned about your furture and that of other young people I seriously suggest you research Ted Cruz and his record on the Constitution which is the only thing that is gonna mean anything in another few years.

Well it does work in some European countries meaning most people have a good standard of living however what Bernie doesn't say is these countries have progressive taxes and the people all drive tiny cars and live in small houses because they don't make enough to be anything but middle class.

Boo our "middle class" homes are mansions to theirs in comparison. By that I don't mean "richer" or somehow "nicer" before someone gets all offended. I'm simply talking about square footage. The average middle class three bedroom ranch is way larger than most European pads. Unless your wealthy, a noble, etc...

There's something off about this whole story. Maybe guys are different, but when I was around 19, there's no way this would have happened, and I came from a very political family. Primary elections just weren't boys and booze.

It's a stupid wage any ways, why would you ever think Sanders would win a CAUCUS against Hillary? There's very easy to rig and Trumps's double digit lead in the polls should have given  you a clue. But, like I said before, something's wrong here. Sounds more like what some hipster recent grads would do while working at the local Starbucks.
