Right now, most of the forecast models show the hurricane shifting north east around Saturday. Kind of weird. Though I doubt beyond appearance, they are in no way the same as 2010.
Their ceiling temps aren't the same, Igor's tops were -63 degrees Farenheight.

I have a feeling Irma is going to lose strength considerably before it reaches Florida, anyway, not the monster they first believed would come ashore.
Rain, waves, will be bad, but not the winds they expected.

It is still a cat 4 with 155mph winds. Still no turn to the north at 2:00PM EDT update. If it does not turn fairly soon the eye could go up the west coast over water. Not good. The one good thing is forward speed is at 14mph and the faster the better.

It looked like it would lose energy as it clipped Cuba, but no such luck.

It is already a zoo in ATL where everyone is trying to go.

NEWS FLASH: It is supposed a tropical storm right over ATL on Monday based on the current track.

Just heard Hurricane "Jose" is following the same track as "Irma"... about the same relative strength too!

Sooooo, True. I know they say it will turn north, but the last time a Hurricane did what the last one just did to Mexico, happened about ten years ago, where a hurricane was on this same path, just about to devastate Mexico, when they had a 7.0+ and the hurricane instantly fell apart, as if the two were symbiotic in nature.

I wonder what effect it will have on this one?

Was talking to a few people today at an event, one couple was from Alabama, the other from Louisiana. Both were taking a long route to get home from Virginia Beach, VA. All the hotels are booked solid in the major cities in Tennessee, for this thing. When I mentioned being stuck in the I-85 traffic following the Eclipse... just imagine, instead of a few thousand people trying to return home, compared to millions trying to get back to Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Alabama!

Gas stations along the I-95 corridor are .20 higher per gallon too!

Well Diesel fuel has jumped 45¢ in Washington State. Some one is making so money off this.

I should have stated it as, gas is 20 cents a gallon higher along the I-95 corridore, than the current prices (just a couple of miles away) - which are already 50 cents higher than before.
