This story has been unfolding for about a week. The customer refused to pay the $.50 for plastic utensils and began a tirade. She obviously became unruly and the staff called the police. The customer resisted arrest and her take down became fairly rough. Now there is outrage from the normal resisters. Waffle House met with the activists this morning and stood by the staff. Good for them. One might question why the $.50 charge for plastic utensils, however, there is no excuse for the action of the customer who started the entire incident.

Sick Of Silence

QuoteIn a tense Monday morning meeting with activists, Waffle House representatives doubled down on support for the employees whose calls to police led to a controversial arrest at an Alabama restaurant.

Sounds like a county thing; are Liberals running that area?

Whenever I go to a yearly thing in Maryland, I get pissed when I walk across the street from my hotel to a 7-11 and they have the nerve to charge me for a plastic bag after I spend a ton on junk food and sodas and I can't carry it all while trying to cross a busy boulevard.
With all these lawyers with cameras on the street i'm shocked we have so much crime in the world.

There is constitutional law and there is law and order. This challenge to law and order is always the start to loosing our constitutional rights.

Frauditors are a waste of life.

Take your own bag.     Seattle is the same way 5ยข for every bag.
I love holding up the checkout line and have my grandkid out and get a bag from the truck.     They end up giving me a bag before the boy gets back.   ( he know that he is to take his time)

Waffle House is a corporate entity out of ATL. This restaurant is in a suburb of Mobile, AL. I believe the charge for plastic utensils is a corporate practice. Their pricing is very affordable so this is just a business decision.
