Sen. Christopher Coons (D-Del.) on Friday warned that Beto O'Rourke's pledge that the government will confiscate semiautomatic AR-15 rifles will become a rallying cry for gun rights groups for years to come and haunt the Democratic Party far into the future.

"I frankly think that that clip will be played for years at Second Amendment rallies with organizations that try to scare people by saying that Democrats are coming for your guns," Coons, an ally of former Vice President Joe Biden in the Democratic race, told CNN's Poppy Harlow in an interview.

Virginia is home to the Virginia Museum of Militaryt Vehichles( http://www.vmmv.org/) A bit west of Manassas

I would guess that accounts for many of the "legally owned registered machine guns"

They have WW2 era tanks,  Half tracks jeeps etc all with 30 cal machine guns and even some 50 cals. I'm talking dozens and dozens of vehicles. The sometimes have reinactments firing period weapons, machine guns etc. They even have (had) a WW2 soviet era tank. 

Side note circa 1993/4 they had as a guest THE MIKHIEL KALASHIKOV at one of their open houses. I got to pose with him holding his invention the famous AK 47 while a friend snapped a pix, somewhere I have that photo.
