Ditto!   Those sweeter than honey farm girls I grew up with, didn't bother saying, "no"....  their slap was like a round-house kick to the face.
Where the heck did Hollywood come up with this idea, farm girls are too stupid to know any better & easily taken advantage of...?  Not from my neck of the woods.

I have two girls they are both black belts in Taekwondo and Aikido, just little old city girls.

Mine must be descendants of Annie Oakley.   Over Thanksgiving, I watched 2 of them embarrass an ex-military guy with his own gun, he was sitting, they were offhand (standing), and shot groups 1/3rd his size, in less time to boot!  He "mistook" one of her targets for his... for just a moment.

Yup... know the feeling.  In a firefight, I'd be the "reloader" for the girls.
I can hear it now... "Dad, if you can't hit anything, do something useful, reload this magazine!"
"Swell, dad, how hard is it to hit what you ain't aiming at?"
"meh.. his gun never heats up, he takes so long between shots - DAD!!!  You sleeping on that trigger again!?"

"What do you mean, let Dad fetch more ammo?   I'm still on the first box of 20, and you girls shot up the whole rest of the case?"
"You girls leave a target for me, wait.. what happened to the X my ring - someone shot it out again!?"

  Girls with guns, just gotta love em!

Honest to God - I hear these quotes about Matt Lauer, "Such a GREAT guy", "Good friend", "So likeable" - what the hell is wrong with these people?   Per that young staffer, he sexually assaulted a staffer, and it sounds like he had multiple affairs to boot!

Once I was a Liberal, believed in "Free Love" and all that Hippie stuff... it's easy to just glomb on to some whacked out philosophy when your mind is altered by drugs.... in fact, some can say really stupid things, Gary Johnson for example.
But the "Free Love" movement never included rape, assault, drugging and forcing yourself - or forcing yourself on anyone, ever!   That's something so contrary, forcing someone into a corner and demanding sex or you'll ruin their career!

To me, Matt Lauer, Garrison Keller, Al Franken, etc., are nobody I ever cared to know, now or 10 years ago, pervert or not.
But, being they're all LIBERALS, I'd rather seem them taken apart for ideology than this.
I think you are on to one of the main points in this. It was part of the liberal culture. Hollywood and politics are both dirty businesses whose main byproduct is a good con job. I never understood all the awards hollywood gives itself, for what, saving mankind??  It is just a dog and pony show that got out of hand. But it did and does attract those who knew HOW THE GAME WAS PLAYED. But once the game is accepted, it got out of hand and even those who did not want to play the game, had to. As long as the liberals had power, people like harvey and bill would get away with anything. A liberals first line of defense is to trash the accuser. Hillary ran this to perfection while in the white house. I believe this is one of the main reasons women did not come forward, they knew they would be trashed. Now liberals have no power, nobody to trash them. There is one other random idea, are liberal women growing up just a little? Are they starting to realize what conservatives have known all along and that is liberal men are full of it? That EVERYTHING women have been taught to hate about men is found in liberal men. I know its too late for the diehard old liberals but maybe there is hope for those who are hitting mid life and finding out they were lied to.

Will this can of worms that has been opened lead us into a more moral society, I have to ask and hope for.

Personal responsibility is treated as a JOKE.   How many times have we heard, "I take personal responsibility for ...." - as if that clears the deck, and the individual stays on the job, without exacting financial or disciplinary follow up.  Those words are meaningless, it seems, unless a Judge steps in sentences jail time and a financial penalty.

Talk of morality is met with self-righteous indignation, separation of church & state, threats of civil rights lawsuits.   I'm convinced, never to open a cake, photography, or restaurant business.  Thinking of some of those old movies, a whole lot of harassment going on there..

Many children have been raised to believe that merely stating, "I'm sorry" will wipe the slate clean, regardless of the misdeed. So, of course personal responsibility is often treated as a joke.

I doubt it. If anyone is looking toward politicians or hollywood for  morals, good  luck. i dont think things are any worse than in the past though. Morals have a hard time surviving sex, power, wealth and fame.

I get what she's saying, that letting people off the hook for bad behavior has a rippling effect on the youth.
Case in point, Clinton's claim that oral sex, isn't sex, had a negative effect on the youth of the day, they saw it as an excuse for indiscretions..
Decades back Hollywood had a positive effect on principles, values, morals, men were held responsible for the treatment of women, and other men were expected to stand in the way of those mistreating women.

Now we have a media that promotes single mothers as pillars of the community, pedophilia as simply misunderstood and needs to be seen as a simple mistake in judgment.

This stuff has been going on a L-O-N-G time in Hollywood circles, google Brian Singer for example.  Who is he?

QuoteIn the 2000s, he became known for big budget superhero films such as X-Men (2000), for which Singer won the 2000 Saturn Award for Best Direction, its sequel X2 (2003), and Superman Returns (2006). He then directed the World War II historical thriller Valkyrie (2008), co-wrote/co-produced X-Men: First Class (2011), and directed the fantasy adventure film Jack the Giant Slayer (2013), as well as two more X-Men films, X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) and X-Men: Apocalypse (2016). Singer was hired to direct Bohemian Rhapsody, which began filming in September 2017, but was fired on December 4, 2017, due to multiple absences from the production and clashes with actor Rami Malek.[2] He has also directed and produced television series, including two episodes of House.

These are POPULAR films, money making films.   IMO, there is a different standard for big money makers in the media.  NBC had Matt Lauer, a big success for the Today show.  Singer has had quite a string of successful movies ... but, should he be serving time in Prison?
